ITALIAN GRAND PRIX QUALIFYING - POLIST HAMILTON, OR VETTEL?

Image
Today is the Qualifying stage of tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix at Monza. So, who will place himself on the Pole position?  Hamilton, Vettel, Raikkonen, Ricciardo, or the long suffering and frustrated racer that Verstappen has been forced, by fate, to become? Well, it could be any of the above, or another racer who will be standing in the middle of the Podium at the end of the Q3 session of today's Qualifying stage.  We will just have to be a bit more patient, and hold on to our excitement.   While we continue to try to telepathically influence the drivers and all the various factors - teams, cars, track conditions, fate, and atmospheric conditions which must all come together to give Racer X that more perfect symmetry to execute that perfect or nearer perfect lap which will place him on Pole.  What we do know is that, while being on Pole is not the be it and end it all for some or most grand prix, being on Pole provides the driver with that added advanta

KENYA'S ELECTIONS ANNULMENT - A PROPORTIONATE JUDGEMENT FROM THE SUPREME COURT? PART 1.

Image
Considering the equivocations and protestations of Odinga, Keyna's Opposition Party's leader, following the outcome of the recent Presidential elections, the question which some people will be asking.  Is that of why did he not just resort to taking the dispute to court, instead of reacting in a manner which could have fuelled destructive strife in Kenya? Why, indeed, considering the shocking, joyous - depending on whether you support Odinga or the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta - and unprecedented decision of Kenya's Supreme Court to overturn the election result? Yes, this is a first for an African country which is clearly making progress in its application of good or improving governance.  With the country having gone to the people to make a decision on which political party and leader should take charge of  it, and the people having spoken, Kenya had acted commendably.  The surprising problem now, is that, according to the court, Odinga'

RUSSIA AND AMERICA IN CLASH OF THE TITANS. HOW BAD WILL IT GET? PART 1.

One could be forgiven for thinking that the world is getting more fucked up; more out of control, with tool little emphasis being given to achieving and maintaining peaceful coexistence between nations.  The big countries are not pulling together and giving a good lead to the smaller and less powerful ones.  Instead, they have a tendency to manipulate the relationships between the smaller and less powerful ones, with a view to using them to achieve their own self and/or selfish interests.  With any improvements in the greater or common good between nations, being incident, rather than being the primary objective. We can see this motivation being demonstrably at work in the responses of the Russians, Americans, Europeans, Saudi Arabians, Turks, Iranians and others to the escalation of the brutal war in Syria, in Yemen.   And, to a lesser but probably even more significant extent, the war between the Ukrainian government and the separatists in eastern Ukraine. I s

JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE TENUOUSNESS OF OUR ATTACHMENTS.

Image
Consider this: How do you measure you value, your worth, in this, your only life?  Is your sense of value and worth, determined by your sense of attachments?  The people to whom you feel attached to, probably your parents, your siblings, extended families, friends, neighbours?  Probably your are religious, and your sense of worth has become inextricably linked to your feelings of conviction to your religion and your religious brethren?  Or, probably you come from a particular tribe or ethnic group, in a patriarchal or traditionalist society, and your sense of worth is based on your tribal or ethnic affiliations? It might even be the case that your sense of worth is predicated on your relative or comparative wealth?  How many camels, or cows, or goats, or water buffalo you own? Or the size of your house, the cost of your car, how many shares you own, or how many acres of land?  It might even be dependent on your occupation. For example, if you are a Priest,

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON AVOIDING ANNOYANCE ESCALATING TO DESTRUCTIVE ANGER AND RAGE! PART 2.

Anger can evolve from being annoyed, feeling annoyed by something or someone.  It can grow from such small and insignificant beginning to becoming uncontrollable rage. Destructive rage.  With consequences which far outweigh the significance of the thing apparently causing the obvious over-reaction. This occurs because, what is the apparent cause of the over-reaction of the person displaying it, is not really the primary cause. It is more likely to be a combination of at least 3 factors, one of which is the apparent cause or trigger.  The other two being the expectations of the person displaying the 'over-reaction', and his/or her particular or peculiar mindset or way of perceiving the world. This means that, in examining and trying to remove the causes of anger and rage, one has to look far beyond the immediate 'causes' or 'triggers.' For the person who has developed the tendency of responding to frustrating or threatening events a

JIHADISM AND THE UNBELIEVABLE DELUSIONAL PSYCHOTIC STATE OF ITS FOLLOWERS! PART 2.

Image
'People who aspire to live in peace and happiness, within the context of the human condition.  Cannot co-exist with those who are fanatically committed towards enslaving and sacrificing humans, at the alter of an inhumane doctrine, which welcomes servitude and death.  As the means by which an imaginary salacious life is to be attained.   And so it is, that 'the way of the Jihadist and their followers' is similar to the analogy of 'the dog and the bone crossing the bridge.' It is fatally flawed and asymmetrical.' What makes these people approach life from such a seriously delusional perspective?  What is the lure that cause them to commit themselves to an ideology which is based on the precept of using evil as a means of achieving what they see as an ideal state of being?  Not only for themselves, but for everybody?  But which the more compassionate and logical amongst us see as either an undesirable state of being, at best, and a myth, at wors

ENGLAND V WEST INDIES SECOND TEST - SUPERB WEST INDIES WIN!

Image
Being one of those who criticise the West Indies Test Team for their dismal performance against England during the First Test.   It is only fitting that I should unreservedly Congratulate them for having engineered a superb and masterfully executed win against England in the Second Test. Having dismissed England for just over 250 runs during their first innings, and then themselves made over 400 runs in their first innings.   The West Indies gave every indication of making a commendable fight to win the Second Test and square the series.  To be fair, they had been expected to make more than 400 runs in their first innings, after Brathwaite and Hope steadied the faltering ship. Following the cheap dismal of  2 or 3 batsmen who, for some unknown reason, were in a hurry to get back to the Pavilion.  Shai Hope and Kraigg Brathwaite subsequently applied their cricketing skills and performed brilliantly. Resulting in both of them making centuries.  Some tenacious ba

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON AVOIDING ANNOYANCE ESCALATING TO DESTRUCTIVE ANGER AND RAGE! PART 1.

Anger is one of, if not the most destructive of all the emotional drivers which fuel the actions of us humans.  It is probably the most costly of all of our emotional states. It can easily and irreparably wreck our relationships with each other and between peoples.  Anger can be ruthless and reckless in its manifestation, its expression.  It can literally destroy all the good which had been built up, between peoples and nations over years, in a matter of minutes, hours, days, months or years.  Anger is not a fitting state of being where any person should seek refuge, shelter or satisfaction.  Nothing which is born of anger, is likely to be of significant value. That is not the way of anger.  Anger tends to be impatient towards reason and unresponsive to any but its own logic. It tends to feed on its own internal logic and rationale.  Which causes it to grow bigger and stronger; being even more repellent of attempts to deflate it. Anger can arise from t
