Yes, as I write this, I cannot but contemplate on President Trump, TU, signing Presidential Orders for oil companies to inflict great damage to the lands of Dakota, in the United States. By enabling the oil companies to bury massive oil pipes under it and risking the welfare of current and future generations, in order to amass monetary wealth and profits.  So as to create jobs, as if the creation of 'jobs' is an end in itself, with no regards to whether those jobs are being procured at too great a cost to local people and environment, and therefore have a negative overall impact on the quality of life and the eco-system.  In the process, ignoring the voices and actions of those people trying to defend the land against its powerful predator. Happiness, therefore, is a desirable state of being, which probably most, if not all humans aspire toward achieving. Indeed, there are some indications that it is not only us humans who experience feelings of 'happiness'.  It would seem to me that probably many animals are able to display manifestations which might be considered as indicating pleasant or happy feelings. Probably foremost amongst these are dogs, cats, monkeys and chimpanzee, goats, lambs, some birds, et al.  We might even assume that, all animals which have their needs satiated could be considered as being in a state of 'happiness.' We could probably presume that all humans who are generally satisfied with and have made a good adjustment to their daily routines, doing whatever they are doing, could be described as living a happy life Living a happy life and experiencing happiness, however, does not mean that we necessarily have to be doing good and upright or enlightened activities

And to what purpose and advantage to the Palestinians, we might ask? You cannot maintain the kind of conflict which is taking place between these two peoples, without the pathologisation of their respective prosecution of to the conflict, and their relationship with each other.  By that, I mean, without both the Israelis and the Palestinians losing much of their humanity and debasing themselves and each other, in order to continue with the conflict. With this state of war and of neither peace nor war, at times.   And with neither people, especially the Palestinians, being able to honestly say, we are fighting, we are dying and we are sacrificing our lives and that of future generations, so that life will be better for the generations of our people who will come after us. Probably one of the most unalterable 'truths' of the human world, indeed, probably also the natural environment, in which we live and manipulate, as it were, is that somebody and/or something must pay a price for all our actions and reactions.  If we move or remove something, then something else must take the place of the void which we create. Something which might not necessarily beneficial to us, or to the succeeding generations of humans, whose fortune or misfortune it will or might lead them to cross that path.  Whereas, of course, the things which have been removed, let us say, natural resources, such as trees, such as coal, such as iron ore, such as animals, such as birds, might have benefited us, the currently living and, probably, the next generation to be born. Human happiness does not denotes a state of manic or unusually high elation, euphoria, joy, laughter and positive mood, but these are all temporary states of feelings which a happy person can and is likely to experience, at times, in their lives.  They can be, as it were, manifestations or indications of the kinds and extent of happy mood feelings which the person is feeling at any given time or times in the generality of living a happy life. Four years, yes, most probably 4 long years, during which time Benyamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, will have had to collaboration of President Donald Trump, The Unethical, President of the United States of America, to expand and consolidate his grand plan to secure the questionable protection of the people of the land of Israel, for, probably a thousand years.  And, to celebrate it, the State of Israel has just announced plans to build over 2000 more homes for Jewish settlers, in the occupied territories. These, in addition to the over 500 which has already been approved by the government of Israel. Of course, in a thousand years time, Prime Minister Netanyahu might be no more than an apostrophe in the then history of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.  He will have been succeeded by probably as many 100 or more national leaders of Israel.
