JUST A THOUGHT ON - CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE DEMISE OF EARTH'S INHABITANTS. THE END, FOR NOW.

Which would require more transparency and accountability. But that is not a good enough reason for not pursuing this option.  After all, if viable and sustainable solutions cannot be found and implemented, within a relatively short period of time.  Then the period of sustainable human, and other species of life, that find our rapidly increasing toxic ecosystem incompatible with healthy living, become shorter than it might have been.  So, life might indeed continue after us humans have self-exterminate our species, and, indeed, the Earth might well partially recover and continue as the evolutionary breeding ground for other and some current forms of life.  How ironic it is that the extermination, self-or-other, of our human species.   Might become the only effective solution to Planet, Earth recovering and remaining more sustainable as the only known inhabitable Planet in our Universe and others?  Well, considered in the scheme of the bigger picture, we shoul

RELIGIOUS DILEMMAS - THE SCOURGE OF RELIGIOUS OPPRESSION AND THE NEED TO FREE HUMANS FROM IT.. PART 5.

And being a person who had  sought 'God'  and, at some point during the decade of my late teens and early adulthood, uncritically studied the Christian Bible and religion. Who had even contemplated becoming a Christian missionary, I have long since come to the conclusion that. There is no proof, no evidence to support the existence of what I call a  Sentient God.    A  thinking 'God'   who is capable of having a meaningful and purposeful relationship with us humans.  Having arrived at the 'age of reason', I could and can no longer accept the existence of 'God', as I did when I was a fearful child.  To continue that former belief and relationship with an imaginary 'God', would, now that I am an a thinking adult, be no less than to live a cowardly life, in fear of this 'God.'  I am not such a person, as I am fortunate enough to be living in, yes, a civilized country where I can freely express my believe or non believe

You could say for some predominantly Muslim or Islamic countries, belief in 'God' has become the law.  Something which has, for all the scientific advancement which people who have fallen under the Islamic religious yoke - which is the reality of all theistic religions - has given the world.  Has probably done most to keep the Islamic world in the dark ages. Now, as soon as someone has the prudence to question the existence of 'God', some people react with fear, if not trepidation that the 'wrath of 'God' will come down on those who are debating the issue.  Fear of 'God' appears to be stifling debate about the existence of 'God.' And yet, it has always been humans who oppress, abuse, imprison and murder people who challenge the belief in 'God'.  It is an indisputable fact that,'God' has never harmed anybody who question his existence, or the religions claiming to be representing his will.  For a ve

For the Christian, the Muslim, the Jew, the Hindu, the Sikh, and others, however, nothing is seen as being wrong, being mentally questionable.   About them pursuing religions which are, inherently, dishonest, deceptive, oppressive, cruel and divisive.   There is no human rights challenging of them for the harm they are causing in unjustifiably depriving their followers of the enjoyable rewards of endeavouring to live their earthly and only life to the full. In the Western hemisphere, ordinary people will openly question and discuss the existence or non-existence of 'God', and whether 'Jesus Christ' really existed.  However, this is not the case with the Christian and Judaism clergy. For them, there is the apparently irrevocable presumption that 'God exist' and that 'Jesus Christ' was, if not is, real.  In the Islamic world, ordinary people have less freedom to discuss whether or not they believe that 'God' exist.   As

'The greatest deception is when you do not even realise that you are and is being deceived. When you espouse the darkness, assuming it to be the light.' With most people not questioning, at least publicly, the absurdity of hundreds of millions of people believing and worshipping an unseen 'Christ' and 'God', whom they believe is living in the Sky or 'Heavens.'  Nothing, is seems, is seen as anomalous and indicative of a mental illness diagnosis regarding these believers.  It is as if, because so many people believe in and have been socialised into accepting this absurdity and unscientific belief.  That fact has, so how,  'normalises'  it, makes it  'a legitimate belief,'  which does not fall into the domain of ' abnormal psychology. '  Despite the lesson which should have been learnt from the mass murder and forced 'suicide' of nearly 1000 followers of the so-called Pastor Jones, in Guyana in 1

Instead of seeing them as 'our natural resources which are ours to exploit as necessary and as we want to.'  Instead of each country, especially the lesser developed ones, saying to themselves and other, we cannot do what is necessary, or what the more developed countries are asking of us.   Until we have achieved a standard of living similar or better than yours, or some other baseline we have set for ourselves.  A not unreasonable position, even if, by the time that goal is achieved, more irreparable damage will have been done to the planet. And what of the other option; that of the more developed countries paying a 'climate-subsidy or premium' to some of all of the lesser developed countries.   In lieu of them maintaining X amount of their forests, their mineral deposits and/or seashore intact? Well, that would make good sense, which is probably one of the reasons why it will or would be difficult to achieve and police.  The local elites se

JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - THE NEED TO FREE HUMANS FROM THE OPPRESSION OF THEISTIC RELIGIONS. PART 1.

'According to Karl Marx, 'religion is the opium of the masses.' I believe that this is true, and that the masses, particularly those who still practice theistic religions, have become addicted to the deceptive brew of their/our religions.  Be it Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, et al. And it really is the case, I believe, that humans cannot be truly free until we break the religious chains and yokes which bind us to our respective religions and non-existent 'Gods.' Although religion has probably oftentimes been the means by which millions of people acquire some kind of formal education, it really is more of an 'enemy' than a 'liberator' of the people.  But is probably inevitably so, since it is a form of catechism with predetermined questions and answers, a form of 'brainwashing' those over whom it flows. Probably the biggest irony humans have constructed, is that pertaining to our discourse about 'Go

JUST A THOUGHT, ON ALLOWING OUR COMPARATIVE DIFFERENCES TO 'VICTIMISE' US. PART 4.

Yes, it is the case that some countries, such as Japan, is experiencing a declining birth rate and fall in their population However, in our current state of affairs, declining population is not  high on the world's agenda.  No longer, if ever it did, is the survival of our species depends on the fertility of any one woman or man, or even on that of many men and many women?  Evolution has already taken care of that threat, by ensuring that the different species of life tend to be rather profligate in their/our reproductivity, rather than being restrictive.  Indeed, the restriction tends to be a mechanism which we have put into place, whether by means of perishing through wars, or artificial birth control, in the case of human species. And so it seems to me, that, the preoccupation of a given man or women with his/her infertility, is predicated upon the personal, the individual, rather than on the group or community prerogative. AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 63.

Be they her children, grandchildren, medical professionals, et al, et al. All will at sometime, more often many times, be the subject of her displeasure.  Not so much because of something this or that person might have done or not done recently. It could be something which was done or not done months and even years ago.  But that does not prevent her from speaking of recalling it as if it was something done or not done yesterday or a few months ago.  This is partly or mostly, it seems to me, a function of my dear mother's increasingly problematic short-term memory recall.  With things which occurred even a long time ago, still appearing as if it has only recently occurred or is still occurring.  Such is the ageing process that, as we approach or exceed our proverbial 3 score and 10 years, the earlier rigidity delineating periods of time, whether it be in hours, days, months, and even years.   Can sometime become more fluid and inaccurate or uncertain in
