THE WATER GARDEN.

Image
And so it is, that as another Summer comes and beginS to recedes, it is good to have some recorded memories of how the Garden has been and was, during the Summer of 2019.  Please have a view and a listen to the sights and sounds of the garden, as recorded on this moment of time and space. And, yes, do enjoy them, if you will.

JUST A THOUGHT, ON WHAT WE CAN LEARN FROM HISTORY.

Image
History, it is said, is a 'great teacher'.  The fact is, however, that ' history ' is neither a good nor a poor teacher; it is not a teacher at all. But us humans do learn from it. One of the most salient thing that us humans can learn from history, is this:   That the now historical event and its actors, though at the time of its occurrence, seemed or was of  monumental importance.  Will, in the course of time, the passing of time and space, become of less importance, less significance, and less relevance in the context of our human history.  Even though it might have influenced the course or path and mode and pace of  our subsequent travel.

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 48.

They serve a purpose, and, even when those in my dear mother's situation do not live in 'the virtual world' continuously.   She will, from time to time, resort to dipping back into it, with varying levels of intensity and continuity.  In her another attempt to extract the result she aspires, deliberately or otherwise, to achieve. Because, yes, as we move beyond our 'promised' 3 score and 10, sometimes even earlier, if fate is more unkind to us, some of us begin to approach the land of conspiracy.  Of feeling sorry for ourselves. Of having sometimes unfair expectations of our children and grandchildren.  But refusing, not wanting to acknowledge to ourselves that our expectations are not fair.  Of spending time thinking of 'how much we have done for them, and of how little they are now doing for us.'  Of looking back; probably oftentimes with a certain 'false memory' which loudly proclaims that you, the person perceiving the

T.: But how can I, G? How can I, being one who does not believe in fairy tales?   In the idea or reality of an omniscient God, coming from wherever he resides, and seducing the humble and, according to the story, vulnerable and gullible wife of a human?   Committing adultery with her. Thereby offending not only her but alienating her husband?  How can I, G; how can I believe such an incredulous account, when, within the context of modern human history, there is no other similarly miraculous interaction between gods and humans?  G.: So you really do not believe that I have wronged Mary and her husband, Joseph; that I have sinned against them? That I have used my position of power over humans to take advantage of my ascribed flock? T. No, G. I do not, because I cannot reconcile such a betrayal of trust with the esteemed image of the nature and character of the being or entity I would expect of 'A God.'  In my view, the story of the birth of the one calle

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON HOW SELF-VICTIMISATION PREVENTS US BEING HAPPY. PART 1.

Image
The acceptance of one's fate, our fate, my fate, can be the first step towards achieving freedom and happiness.  So what do I mean by this, 'the acceptance of our fate'? Do I mean that we should become fatalistic, accepting whatever happens to us in life?   Whatever experience befalls us, as 'our fate', and something which we should not resist, in any kind or form?  What I am saying, even postulating, is not something which I have already thought through, applied and tested.  And yet, although I am not versed in Buddhist, Confucian and/or Taoist thought, it seems to me that I am opening my train of thought towards their school of thought. No, I am not making a case the passive acceptance of whatever apparent and actual misfortunes befall us humans.  I am not saying we should put our hands up - if we have hands - and surrender, become more of a 'prisoner to providence' than we originally are. No, definitely not.  I am, even as I thin

RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX - TEAM MERCEDES RECOVERED THEIR 'JET MODE' FATE-ASSISTED WINNING WAYS. THE END.

Probably in common with many, if not all of the competing teams, Team Mercedes and their racers put in sterling performances.  Which is why they were able to capitalise on Team Ferrar's misfortunes, especially the hapless Vettel, whose engine gave up on him and forced his retirement. The result was that Team Mercedes was rewards with their first win since the resumption of the Formula 1 season, after the summer holiday break.  It was not for lack of trying that Charles Leclerc, following the the recall of the Safety Car, was not able to overtake the seemingly vulnerable and catchable Valterri Bottas.   Who, despite of Leclerc requesting that his Team gave him all the power they had at their disposal. Just did not have what it took to catch and overtake his potential prey.  Never mind being able to do anything to threaten Hamilton, who was several seconds ahead of his team mate. Yes, there was no hoped for rain at the Sochi Circuit, but fate still inte

Things change; nothing is permanent. The old must give way to the new, at least where us humans are concerned, if the natural order of is to be maintained. If the process of birth, dying and rebirth is to occur.  Yes, if nothing changes, then that would not be good, as it could lead to boredom, constant misery for those who are being adversely impacted by the absence of change.  And, probably most importantly, it would preclude or prevent the alternative birth and existence of who or what would have taken its place. So, yes, for those of us who were getting fed-up, disinterested by Team Mercedes continuing dominance of Formula 1.   Those of us who were or are not ardent Team Mercedes and Hamilton and Bottas' fans.   The ascendancy of Team Ferrari and their racers, Vettel and Leclerc, The Intense, would have been a breath of fresh air, as it were.  And yes, for the more objective lovers of Formula 1, a category to which many of us might not belong to. An

RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX - CHANGING OF THE GUARDS?

Image
Big Congratulation to Team Ferrar and Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel, for having continued their still unbroken dominance of the second half of the 2019 Formula 1 season, by making it a P.1 and P.3 during Qualifying session on Saturday. Big Congratulation to Team Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton for making it to P.2, after a brilliant final lap during Q.3, though not as brilliant as that of Leclerc, and probably partly aided by Vettel having made a mistake in his final lap. And so it is, that Team Mercedes' travail continues, since they returned to the battle with Teams Ferrari and Red Bull, after the summer break.  From their once dominant position - in winning races apparently somewhat effortlessly - Team Mercedes and their star racer, Lewis Hamilton.   Have had to consigned themselves to the humbling and most probably shell-shocked position of relearning how to feel and react to being, yes, beaten by the opposition.  It is not that Team Mercedes is not stil

It can be a source of major or seemingly major problems. Which is why my dear mother, and all who are touched by her apparent delusion, are currently suffering. Not that this apparent transition from living in the 'real world' and meeting its sometimes seemingly frightening threats, to taking refuge in a virtual one which our psyche has created.  Makes much sense at all. Considering that this virtual world, as my dear mother has so persistently testified to, can also be even more terrifying than 'the real world.'  Of course, it is by now quite clear, or should be to me and to others, that the people who have, by reasons of their particular circumstances, created these virtual worlds, are not able or willing to let go of them.  Of making them redundant and return to live in 'the real world.'   To be continued!

T.: Mmmm! G.: I mean, if I were to consort with humans in that way, might it not have been much more desirable that I should have consorted with and seduced a poor and probably alienated widow?   Having of course, gain her consent before? For heaven's sake, for my sake, T? How can humans really think so lowly of me, whom they profess to believe in? How? T.: Well, G. When you really analyse it from our, from the human's perspective, it is probably not really all that surprising that us humans should be viewing it as such. You see, G. The believers declare that you have made humans in your own image, but that cannot be so.  As you have just asked, 'how can humans really thing so lowly of you?' How can the believers in you really presume, argue that you have slept with the wife, the betrothed of a human, the humble Joseph?  To be continued!

T.: How can they really believe that you could or would be so deceptive to do such a dishonourable thing, and, even worse, that you would try to dress up such an exploitative and abuse act as 'a blessing', a honouring of Mary Magdalene?  There can only be one reason for this, G, and it is that it is not you who have made humans in your own image.  But rather the believers in you, who have made you in their own image. With all the weaknesses, frailties, contradictions and incredulity which are aspects of the human condition. G.: So, T. Does this mean that you do not believe that I have fathered the one the believers call, Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, by sleeping with Joseph's wife? To be continued!
