POLITICIANS ARE NOT GODS, SO DO WE NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH OF THEM? PART 4.

Or probably this is not the role of government, even if that is our expectations.  After all, how often do we hear people complain that this government has not done anything for me.  What is it that people want from their governments, and is it the same as what the government or governments see as its role?  Some politicians and governments, more so those on the right of the political spectrum.   Focus more on building and strengthening the paraphernalia of the state, such as the armed forces, the powers of the executive and judicial powers of the state.  As well as monuments and infrastructural project symbolising  patriotism and  nationalism.  They are less concerned with enabling the people to acquire the practical things they need to realise their potential and have a happy life.  To be continued!

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' He noticed that the young man was carrying a long black holdall bag, suspended under his right arm, by a long strap balanced on his shoulder. He instinctively knew that it was their son, Kazaliwa. Although the young man had not told them of the precise date and time of his pending release.  The family knew that his discharge was due to take place sometime in September 2014. And now the day, the fateful and much longed  for day and time has arrived.  Nzuli and Mfanyazaki would have many a times reflected on and rehearsed how they would have driven to the prison to await and collect their son upon his release.  But that was not to be so. Kazaliwa, for his own undeclared reason

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' Rapping requires the kind of life which was consistent with it, and that was no longer the life style he, Kazaliwa, wanted for himself.  To be a good rapper, he seemed to be saying, you have to feel it, and to feel it, you have to live in and with it.  That is the only way he felt he could be an authentic rapper. Yes, his parents and brother, Nzuli, Mfanyazaki and Mzaliwa.  Would have to share or privately cogitate on and be tortured by their fears about how he would continue to fare with life on the inside.  Probably falling out of love with rap was a sign of his transformation, of him being rehabilitated. By his own actions and that of others.  He had taken to writing poet

The relationship between the secularist and God and/or religion is now one which is predicated on rationalism.  Whereas, for the orthodox Muslim, it is a relationship which is based more on rigid dogma and passivity. It would not be logical for a people, let us Christians and people who do not believe in the Gods and the religious prophets and scribes.  To reject and debunk, if you will, their own 'native or adopted religions and beliefs.'  And then show reverence and deference to the Gods and religious beliefs of new comers.  Why would they? Why should they?  Especially when we consider that both Christianity and Islam have expanded through the conquering and subjugation of other peoples and religions.

But do not be despaired, the believers and the faithful tell us.  There is a better world to come; a paradisical world, buy not until we have all died.  A bit like a dream, you might say. Which could suggest that, just as how God has apparently abandoned humans.  When faced with the demand to allow us freedom of speech and expression.  So has he abandoned the world of humans, when faced with the challenges brought about by our greed and addiction to conflict. And, with God having found the challenge of ruling the world so disheartening that he has abandoned it.  How can we expect that our human politicians are going to be able to form competent governments to rule over us? Are we not asking too much, the improbable even.  That we should expect that our politicians, our governments, are ever going to be able to satisfy the conflicting interests and goals of the people? No, the true secularist and secularism, based as they are on rationalism, is not putting one God or one religion above or below the others.  They accord all the same respect and/or disrespect. They will make fun of all of them.  They will question and balance the logic and rationality of what each and all of the Gods and the prophets purport to be about.  The secularist, being also rational and logical, will not take the purported words of God or any of the prophets at face value.  As sacred or divine, but will question them. Unlike the Orthodox or fundamentalist Muslim.  Even those who will say they do question their religion.   But some how still end up accepting and defending what it is reputedly saying, however illogical it might seem. It seems reasonable, therefore, that we could draw the conclusion that God has never helped any humans.  Despite the fact that humans are always asking him to help them/us.  Why this should be so we do not know, except for the probably obvious one; that God does not exist.  Or that he does not get involved in the affairs of humans.  Having abandoned them/us, after our putative ancestors, Adam and Eve, had a row with him.   Telling God that they wanted to have the freedom to think and express themselves as adults. We are told, by the religious and the faithful, the believers in God, that he rules the world.  That he is omniscient and omnipotent, he is the most powerful being or entity in the celestial world.  And despite all of this, when we look at the world which us humans have made, the societies we have established and developed.  We see a tremendous amount of chaos and misery. All under the watch of God.  To be continued!
