When you are poor, desperate and have to live in fear, you might not be given to 'look an apparent gift horse in the mouth.'  It might be better, or you might have become so conditioned to what seems to be the 'normal state of being.'  That you are not the one who is going 'lose your head or life', knowingly, by questioning and challenging the status quo. Yes, in a way, former President Lula de Silva and his government did question and challenged the then existing militarised and right-wing status quo which was Brazilian societal norm prior to 2003. And which is now reclaiming the Brazilian landscape again. But they did so at a cost, including, and probably inevitably so, using some of the inherently corrupt Brazilian methodology and tools.  After all, when there is muddy water all around you, blocking your path to dry and desirable land.  How can you get across without threading in the murky water, yourself, or getting someone else to do so and

So it is that, for Christians, the reputed Resurrection of Christ provides them with the promise, the hope of  life everlasting.  It cannot be stated any stronger than that, that it is a promise , a hope , albeit, a hope and a promise which might, indeed, is unlikely to be kept.  But one which, like their belief , their faith in their God, they either do not need anymore proof than the account of the Gospel.  Or they cite the intricacies of all observable things in the universe and multiverses as 'evidence.' Some Jewish Israelis and others will doubtlessly feel some empathy with the Palestinians, and even less with express it. But that is not the way of the oppressor, to show sympathy, to show compassion and humility, to not be more ruthless than you could afford to be.  To appear to harbour any weakness, any doubt in the righteousness, the divinely ordained right you have to take another people's land and drive them off into the wilderness and make scavengers of them.  No, it is not the way of the forces which have been tasked, purportedly by God, with the protection and expansion of the modern land of Israel.  For the religious Jews living in the State of Israel, their is no light, there cannot be any light between the Jewish people and the divine deity, God.  Just as how the State of Israel has a special relationship with the United States of America, a relationship which is above all other relationships which the USA has with any other country.   so do

There is probably no good time for a person to have to be incarcerated in the dungeon of a prison.  But how much worse is it that one should appear to be contemplating the almost inevitability of having to do so at the advanced age of 72 years old? Such is the misfortune which fate appears to have rolled out for Brazil's former President, the iconic and seminal Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva.  It was Lula who had given temporary realisation to the hopes of millions of poor and even desperate Brazilians.  When, after a life time of political struggle for positive changes in Brazil, Lula ascended to the Throne of the Brazilian Presidency in January 2003, and remained there until 2011.  He did his bit for his people, although there will have been many who would argue that he did not do enough for them.  And even others who might argue that, as is the reality in so many countries of the world, he and others associated with him, would or might have done 'their bit for them

This is the primary goal and strategy of all situations in which one people or section of a people, set about occupying the lands of another, and establishing a relationship of occupier/occupied and oppressor/oppressed between them.
