JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE IRONIC AND PARADOXICAL SACRIFICE OF BRAZIL' LUIS INACIO LULA DE SILVA! PART 1.

There is probably no good time for a person to have to be incarcerated in the dungeon of a prison. 

But how much worse is it that one should appear to be contemplating the almost inevitability of having to do so at the advanced age of 72 years old?

Such is the misfortune which fate appears to have rolled out for Brazil's former President, the iconic and seminal Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva. 

It was Lula who had given temporary realisation to the hopes of millions of poor and even desperate Brazilians. 

When, after a life time of political struggle for positive changes in Brazil, Lula ascended to the Throne of the Brazilian Presidency in January 2003, and remained there until 2011. 

He did his bit for his people, although there will have been many who would argue that he did not do enough for them. 

And even others who might argue that, as is the reality in so many countries of the world, he and others associated with him, would or might have done 'their bit for themselves', as well.

Corruption of a massive scale, is endemic in Brazil. It permeates probably most, if not all aspects of Brazilian society, from the top to the bottom, as the saying goes. 

It is within the Judiciary, the government, politics, high and low society. 

Corruption and crime, as the are in many countries of the Americas, parts of Africa and the world in general, are fuel on which 'normal society' runs. 

Corruption and crime have become 'normalised' and 'legitimised.' It is difficult, if not impossible, for many ordinary citizens to live their lives without being tainted. 

Either as beneficiaries or victims of crime and corruption being perpetuated by others. As noted by an eminent anti-mafia investigating Judge, noted about the ordinary people of his native Sicily.
