AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX - UNBROKEN BAKU TAMED BY LECLERC, HAMILTON, AND VERSTAPPEN WITH POLE AND P.2. PART 1.

Image
A Very Big Congratulations to Team Ferrari and Charles Leclerc, and to Team Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, and Team Red Bull and Max Verstappen, for respectively making it to Pole, and to P.2 and P.3, during the Qualifying Session of the 2021 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Azerbaijan on Saturday.  A Big Congratulations, also, to all the racers who took part in Practice and Qualifying session of on this, probably the most precarious of all Formula 1 grand prix circuits. Oh, Baku, Baku, my love. Why must you be so rough with those intrepid racers whom fate have challenged to ride your circuit.  Why will you not give them any quarter,  as you lure them into your cold concrete, steel, rubber and synthetic material embrace? Mercilessly smashing some, seemingly too many, on your jeering circuit walls.   Even as you allow other to hold onto and be guided by the Golden Wire of Fate, to twist, turn and snap their way through your path of destiny, at what seems to mere mortals, to be suicidal speeds. JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - THE PROBLEM BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE PALESTINIANS : NO WAY OUT ???? PART 3.

Have contended that 'God', the Hebrew 'God', according to the Jewish scriptures in the Torah, has given them this land, to which they are to return.  Even at the cost of expelling its current inhabitants. Which is part of the justification for the state of Israel pursuing a relentless policy of dispossessing and of de facto expulsion of the Palestinian people from their lands.  Which, some would argue, might just be the same, in effect, if not methodology, as how the Jewish people - something I cannot prove - were expelled from same or surrounding lands, thousands of years ago.  Apparently as punishment for having disobeying or not obeying their God. With the Anglo-Saxon and Slavic people of Europe having persecuted their Jewish citizens for centuries.   And with Hitler and the Nazis having attempted to wipe out European Jews, people who have the same rights as them to live and work and prosper in their relevant countries as they the Anglo-Saxons and other native peop

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON VALUE OF 'IDEALISM.' PART 4.

But one which they can only achieve after they die and, miraculously, like the fable of Christ's resurrection.   Are made to come back to life, from wherever it is that the departed reclines until the 'Day of Judgement.' And then there is the political idealism. The idealism which is based on an ideology or philosophy which hopes to make a society founded on an 'ism.'  Be it that of 'capitalism', or 'socialism', or 'communism', or 'liberalism', or the socio-religious system of 'Islamism.'  All of these idealistic idealisms are, in their ideal conception, intended to establish monotonous societies, in which only one of these 'isms' is practiced.  Whether that be 'socialism', 'capitalism', 'islamism', et al.  Of course, where a given country allows different political parties to operate, it becomes more difficult for any one 'ism' to hold sway continuously.   As the people become disillu

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 117.

It is probably not worth reflecting on my dear mother might, would have managed, had she not had the dedication she has been receiving from S.  Of how much more or difficult and challenging my life and that of other involved family members would or might have been, had S not continued to be the rock on which her care is based upon.  Yes, there is a cultural difference between my dear mother, between us and S, and, indeed, all of her current professional carers. But it does not present an insurmountable challenge.  My dear mother and her family comes from a place where there was, though on a much smaller scale, such cultural mixing.  And it is the case that our humanity takes or should take precedence over our cultural, religious and even linguistic differentiation.   There are, indeed, times in our lives when we need listen more carefully to and be guided by our feelings of empathy.  And control, leash our prejudices and our stereotypical tendencies about 'other people', and

Reminding myself that, though she is a major part of my emotional and psychological functioning on a daily basis, it is really others who are carrying most of the physical responsibility for her day to day care.  It is S, her main carer for the past many years, who is there early in the morning, come rain, sun or snow.  To provide her with her breakfast and assists her with her hygiene needs. It is her, S, who is usually there at lunch time to give her her lunch.  And it is S who is there for her at dinner time and who is usually the last person who sees and interacts with her each day.  It is S, with whom she has a very strong attachment to my dear mother.  It is she who has let it be know that she sees my dear mother as her own, and it is she who has been going the extra half a mile, a mile even, to offer and take her to hospital appointments at times.  It is her her who sometimes orders her repeat medication for her. It does not matter that none of this devotion to caring for my d

JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - SOCIAL WORK AND THE ADOPTION DILEMMA. PART 4.

'.......It is therefore incumbent on the local authority and adoption placement services that they do all they can to avoid unintentionally contributing or even causing adoption breakdowns, by taking a generic, on plan for all approach, in making adoption placements.' Caring for and parenting ones biological children is a very intense and demanding challenge.  It is a challenge which is likely to demand more and place more stress on parents and carers at critical milestones of developmental stages of the child's journey through childhood.  Stages such as when the child is teething, requiring feeding throughout the night, crawling and walking, wanting to explore and challenge his/her environment, establishing and developing their initiative and autonomy, going through adolescence, developing their identity.  Parents and carers are, fortunately, able to meet some of their children's learning needs through 'role-modelling.'  While there are other needs that they

MONACO GRAND PRIX - MAX VERSTAPEN NAILED , WHILE VALTTERI BOTTAS LEFT STRANDED IN TH PITS OF.........!!!!

It is to Max Verstappen's credit that, not only does he tend to take all opportunities that come his way, but he also endeavours to place himself in the position to take such opportunities. As he has done in this 2021 Monaco Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc not being able to benefit from his Q.3 Pole. At the same time, Verstappen in far from being an opportunistic racer, as it were. The man is persistent and unforgiving in his racing application.  If his car  still has the ghost, Max will race it. If it does not, or is so lame as to be   uncompetitive, then Max will, probably grudgingly, settle for the best place he can.  Who does Max Verstappen reminds me of? The younger version of Lewis Hamilton, the now 7 times Formula 1 Driving Champion.   Not that there was any evidence of this from the Great Racer during the the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix on 23rd May.  As Hamilton had not been in contention at anytime during the race weekend, and with him carving out only P.7 during the race.
