JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE CASE FOR NOT HAVING CHILDREN. WHAT NEXT?
I get the bit about the pleasure and happiness of giving birth to ones own babies, of having cute and adorable babies and children. I get the bit about the happiness and joy which children can bring to their parents. I also get the bit about having to deal with the stressful challenges involved in caring for children and parenting them. But I still question the fact that all of this is doomed to come to a tragic, though 'natural end.' Even though it, the process of our species having children, will continuously be repeated and have the same 'tragic' but 'natural outcome.' While our species continue to exist. And then, I ask myself, for what purpose? What would us humans, individually and collectively, have lost. If we were not to exist anymore? What would we lose, if we were to stop existing?
