And, if so, of what benefit is it likely to be to my mother at this stage of her life? Thus my dilemma, and hers.

But not for long, because my dear mother, being the down-to-earth and pragmatic person she is. 

She has now decided that she might as well go ahead with the appointment. As she commented, they have sent her it, so she might as well keep it. 

Which sees fair and reasonable, considering that there are times when we continue to hope against seemingly states of hopelessness. 

She might be only a few days short of two months of her 102 Birthday, but my dear mother seemingly has no plans about going over the abyss imminently. 





As can be deduced from her apparent reluctance from me selling her scooter, on the rationale that she will not be using it any longer. 

Yes, she contradicted me when I frankly, but probably less than tactfully, some might argue, told her that it might as well be sold or given to a charity. 

Of course, there are some things she will say now which should not be taken literally or without further clarification from her,
 As she is not always properly grasping what is being or have been said to her.

But on the whole, the position or overall state of my dear mother is one of on-going stability. 

She does not seem to be getting noticeably weaker, although her perceptual abilities are noticeably in decline.
