JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW THINGS ARE BECOMING MORE IMPERMANENT! THE END....

But the evidence would seem to suggest that, European unity, such as it is, has been partly bought at the expense of fighting their wars in Africa, in part, and in the Middle East.  We are into the age of widespread 'proxy wars and conflicts', with European countries, deliberately of collaterally.  Creating, promoting or instigating the conditions which lead to or encourage disunity and conflicts and wars in some African and Middle Eastern countries.  In support of their strategic international interests. We can see this happening in the war against ISIL, with some countries in the west wanting to turn it into a Crusade, and use it as their raison detre to continue to station their armed forces in some countries.  Such as Iraq and Syria. This, despite them also saying ISIS or ISIL, is more about an idea that being something tangible.  In other words, ISIS or ISIL can only be defeated by 'winning the minds and hearts' of those who are its actual

JUST A THOUGHT, ON AMERICA'S WAR ON IRAN. PART 2.

When the USA makes clear its intention to starve the people of Iran and make their lives as miserable as it can, through economic warfare on them.  Promising them, in return for the deprivation it intends to and is inflicting on them, that they will, in the end have "freedom."  A strange kind of "freedom" which is to be bought by the economic and industrial ruin of their, the Iranians' country.  "Freedom" like that which the United States and her allies have brought to Iraq, to Libya, to Yemen, and have done so much to bring to Syria. The American government has made it clear that it is unashamably pursuing a course of regime change in Iran. The overthrow of the government.  That it is the friend of the Iranian people; the same people it is trying to force, through depriving them of much of the things which can make their lives better, to oppose their government.  Hoping to use them as compliant tools, weapons against their gover

JUST A THOUGHT - ON 'THE CONSCIENTIOUS BLACK MAN'S BURDEN'! PART 4.

Yes, it is the 'black man' how is presented as being too partial to using the knife. It is the black man who is presented as being too big a seller or pusher of illicit drugs.  It is he who is constituting too big a proportion of the prison population.  It is he who is presented, seen as being too over-represented in making crime his livelihood. Being employed in the crime industry. Such is the 'burden of the black man', that when he/she is living in the evolving multicultural societies of Europe.   The become almost hypersensitive towards the criminal activities of the criminal sections of their 'community.'  If they hear of somebody being murdered, raped, mugged, or of a terrorist outrage, their first thought might be that of, 'I hope he is not a black man.'  And if it transpired to have been or to be a black man - invariably a black man rather than a black woman - then their second thought is likely to be that of, 'oh m

'It is the right of each and all countries to defend their citizens from the malign intentions and actions of other countries that seek to cause them and their people significant harm.  Where a nation, of itself, is unable to defend itself and its people from such harm, it is that country's right to endeavour to do so by whatever means are necessary.  Including the building of strong alliances with other countries, and building and procuring the arms which are likely to be effective in defending itself and/or the alliance.   From being harmed by the country or countries which intend to harm it.' This, then, is the challenge which confronts the people of Iran and their government.  Namely that of how best do they defend themselves against the persistent and concerted attacks, war being wages against them by the United States of America, and Israel and their Arab allies? What are they to do, when the US has declared its intention to overthrow the legi

'CONVERSING WITH GOD' - ON GIVING MEANING TO PEOPLE'S LIVES. PART 15.

L.G.: As I have said, T. Irrespective of what has been prophesied. There is no divine purpose for the existence of humans, than that you should live while you are alive, and make the best of your only time on the earth.  There is really no going to 'Heaven' after you die. And what is more, I cannot see any point in you, humans, wanting to live forever. Which is just as well that it is not going to happen. T.: You know, L.G. It would make eminently good sense if us humans are the result of an evolutionary process, instead of one of 'creation.' L.G.: Why is that, T?  T.: Well, with evolution, things, including living ones, just evolve from one state or species, into another state or species, of their own accord.  It does not require any guidance or direction from outside. You know, it does not require a god, as does the theory of 'creation.' L.G.: You mean no need for me, eh, T? T.: No need at all, L.G. No need. No master plan or pu

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON HOW 'THE CENTRE' IS WHERE MOST OF US HUMANS PROBABLY LIVE OUR LIVES. PART 1.

In general, it seems to be the case that, us humans, in all or most of what we do, do have a tendency to 'occupy the middle', instead of the left, extreme left, or the right or extreme right.' 'Put your money where you mouth is', is the challenge of the person who is either certain of the accuracy of his/her position, of is seeking to bluff his/her challenger into capitulating.  Similarly, many of us will be au fait with the somewhat contemptuous phrase of 'action speaks louder than words', which we use to goad others who we believe are just talking rubbish.  This latter jibe, if you will, probably goes to the heart of the challenge.  Since it presumes or presupposes that no rational or responsible human being would commit their presumable hard earned money and other resources.   To testing or trying to prove something which the consider to be too risk and unlikely to prove successful. And so it is, that us human's function on sever

Gone are the days when Western Europeans, in particular, could accurately speak about the absence of conflict on the European mainland.  No longer can they do so, following the relatively recent Baltic wars, and the still simmering ethnic and religious tensions in Eastern Europe.  With the heating up of the soon to be ignited 'Cold War' between the West's Nato and the European Union, and the Russian Federation and their allies, including China.  With the stresses on the European Union reaching breaking point, and risk recreating the pre-First and Second World War conditions which led to those two wars. And what of the rest of the world; are we seeing more or less conflicts and wars?  If there are less wars and conflicts in the rest of the world, that is not how it appears when we look at the African and Asian continents.  It is not so when we look to the Middle East. Consider it a matter of displacement, if you like.   To be continued!

'CONVERSING WITH GOD' - ON GIVING MEANING TO PEOPLE'S LIVES. PART 14.

Image
L.G.: The purpose of your life does not outlast you, irrespective of prognastications and the visions of the ancients.  Notwithstanding the prophesies of the prophets, the holy men and women, the seers and the mystics.  The life of humans, like the lives of all other creatures, have not divine purpose or meaning.  It is, to a large extent, like the beautiful flower that blossoms and fills the air with its radiance and aroma.   And then withers and dies, making space for others yet to be born or blossom, to take its place. T.: That makes sense to me, L.G. Even though, like others, there are times when I, in my moments of quiet contemplation, do think about and question the whether it is or was worth it.  That humans should have been created or evolved.  So, L.G., when the Christian gospel quoted Christ as having said he was going to prepare a place in his, your Kingdom, for the faithful.  Presumably after they have passed, well, it is not true, is it?

'CONVERSING WITH GOD' - ON GIVING MEANING TO PEOPLE'S LIVES. PART 13.

T.: Mmm. I am not of the Hindu or Buddhist faith or philosophy, L.G. But I  think I can understand and appreciate the logic of your argument.  While it really is the case that elephant is bigger than the mouse. It would be presumptuous of us to imagine that life of an elephant, simply because of its size and powerful presence.  Is necessarily of greater value than that of the mice. That the death of an elephant is necessarily less traumatic for the elephant species, tan is the death of a human.  L.G.: No, T. That we do not know for sure, we can only make assumptions about it, based on what we know, feel and have been brought up to believe. But, be that as it may, T.  Getting back to your question regarding the giving of meaning to human life. My taken on it, T, is that the only meaning to your life, to the life of humans, is that which you, they have given to it.  Both individually and collectively. And what is more, this value, this purpose, like lives

Some of  the citizens might then find themselves 'free', but without a viable means of living and feeding their families.  And be doomed to live a life of great frustration; probably a worse state than that which the west has 'rescued' them from. Because, at the end of the day, there is much to suggest that, it is better to have a sustainable livelihood, economic well-being.  Than western version of 'freedom and democracy' secured through war and not being viable.  Nobody can achieve anything by sacrificing their lives for it. It is only others who can achieve something by the lives which have been sacrificed for it.  And anything which has to be paid for by the lives of others, is or should be considered questionable. And, speaking of this sense of impermanence. We should not forged the 'impermanence' of the state of peace which we might have come to mistakenly believe had broken out upon the face of the Earth.  To be co
