On A Given Day and Time In Early January!

Image
On a given day and time, this is the natural beauty which can be beholden from my perspective. Please take a look and see if you also find it beautiful, but, even more importantly, enjoyable and conducive to your daily contemplative state.

THANK GOD FOR PUTIN AND RUSSIA; 'AMERICA'S RELUCTANT ENEMIES', AND FOR DONALD TRUMP? THE END.

Image
What can I or anybody else think, when we hear the American Senator, John McCain, actually saying that "Russia needs America as an enemy"? My god, for how long has the American establishment been predicated upon the notion that it must have 'an enemy or enemies', in order to convince the more undiscerning 'free worlders' why they need the military, and the assumed moral and political might of the United States to protect them? 'Enemies' with which to legitimise the existence and 'moral superiority' of the United States? Yes, it is the American Establishment and its legitimisation which need to have the 'bad Russians' and strong leaders like President Putin, as enemies. However reluctant and unhappy they, the Russians, are to play their designated 'demonic' role. Yes, it is a role which Putin and his country's citizens might not want to have to play, but they seem to have little choice, as they are being forced an

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE POWER OF GRIEF. PART.3

Image
Contemplating further on grief and grieving, it seems to me that it is an unavoidable and inescapable condition of all humans who are capable of showing empathy, of making a commitment to, of caring for, of loving another person.  A process by which you become a part of that other person and that person become a part of you. Not of your physical self, but of your psychological and social self. Depending on the intensity and duration of your commitment to that other person, the greater is likely to be the felt grief and the extent of our grieving, should we have to endure the trauma of losing that person.  With our sense our state of grief and grieving being mitigated or magnified, probably according to whether the lost is permanent of temporary. As ironic as it might be or seem, our grief could be more intensely felt when our loss is for a long-term, though not permanent period of time. This could be because, temporary and long-term but not permanent loss, as opposed to that ar

Do I Play With It Or Prey On It?

Image
Jeez, man, I just don't know. I mean, what am I suppose to do with this squirrel? Am I supposed to play with it, or prey on it? I swear I just don't know. Either way could be fun. But, you know what? Suppose I was to to prey on it, that would only give me fun for today. Whereas, especially as I am not really feeling hungry today, if I were to be smart and play with Bre squirrel, I would still have the option of preying on or playing with him again, tomorrow, and the day after, and... Please take a look at this video and, as usual, see if it could assist your day's contemplation on the pleasures of living.

THANK GOD FOR PUTIN AND RUSSIA; 'AMERICA'S RELUCTANT ENEMIES', AND FOR DONALD TRUMP? PART 1.

There is great dissonance and turmoil in Washington, the capital of the United States of America, that 'great' protector and guarantor of the so-called 'free world.'  This turmoil is, naturally, of great concern to 'the people of the free world', as it should also be to the people of 'the unfree world.'  It is of great concern because it speaks of great confusion and uncertainty, the kind which could lead to disaster, as the incoming Republicon Administration, in its attempt to 'show the world who is boss', could run the risk of yielding to the clamour of the hysterical political classes to make war on Russia, thereby being led by its dick and balls, instead of by wise counsel. Yes, with what is going on in Washington today, the opportunity is there for The Don  to, probably not so much making American great again, but making it Sane again. 'Putin', 'Putin', 'Russia', 'Russia'! 'Down with Putin

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE POWER OF GRIEF. PART 2.

Image
Now that we are feeling such a terrible loss of security and strength. With our stability acutely threatened, as we now try to, precariously, balance and retain our now seemingly tenuous grip on the metaphysical ground on which fate  has recklessly thrown us.  Of holding on to dear life, as our sanity is threatened and assaulted, while our metaphysical world continues to vibrate and send tremors through our bodies, as it threatens to erupt and cast us into the baying, wretched, and uncaring arms of despair and depression. Of being alive, but, some how, not being sure if we want to continue to be alive, to be living with such emotional and psychological pain as a constant or near continuous companion. Of feeling very very uncertain that you will ever regain your original state of being. Your state of security and stability prior to the bottom dropping out of your world.  And to be feeling this on a continuous, a daily, nightly, weekly and monthly basis. Yes, how can one not

The Evolution Of The Suburban Gulls?

Image
This somewhat unusual - though not for this particular locality - of Gulls strolling on a green school playing field in early January, could foretell the gradual evolution of the suburban Gull, with its 'Sea' prefix no longer being applicable to it. How interesting. Please take a look and see if you find it as interesting and capable of assisting with your daily moments of quiet contemplation.

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE POWER OF GRIEF. PART 1.

Image
Such are that condition of humans that, by virtue of us inheriting life through the process of evolution, are we also destined to experience lost and taste death.  And so are we fated to suffer the excruciating torment of grief, at some points in our beautify and miserable lives. Because, just as how life can be beautiful and pleasurable, so can it immobilises us with  the losses and grief we experience as a consequence of our living.  Be it the grief which we feel for a much thought of person or a loved one who has been called by destiny, or a partner who has ended a relationship in which we have invested so much of ourselves that we, on our own, no longer feel ourselves to be whole and viable.  Or be it a loved one or partner who has due to some circumstances over which they and/or us have no control, has temporarily or permanently been physically removed from our lives. Or probably a person who is known to us or a relative, who has suffered a life-transforming illness. S

A THOUGHT FOR NOW - PRESIDENT ELECT DONALD TRUMP AND THE CORRUPTING EFFECT OF POWER. THE END.

Image
For those of us who might be inclined to see PE Donald Trump as a version of President Putin, in his, let us say, purported autocratic style of running his incoming Presidential Administration, we should not lose sight of the fact that President Putin is an astute and accomplished politician and world leader. Donald Trump might have some of PP's apparently autocratic style of ruling, but he, DT, seems to lack the political intellect, statesmanship and diplomacy which enables President Putin to be the effective leader he is.  Donald Trump, sadly, and despite his popularity amongst his supporters and the destitute and desolate Americans, who are hoping that he will bring them respite or relief from their plight, is probably more akin to the North Korean President, Kim Jung-un, and the President of the Philippines, Rodergo Duerte.  In other words, Donald Trump appears to be not only unorthodox, but to have the appearance of being a renegade. Which is not to say some of his

Blackbirds Ritualising!

Image
Three blackbirds having fun playing an esoteric game or performing a ritual which only them and the ornithologist might understand. Yet, that should not stop us from enjoying the performance; whatever its significance. Please take a look and derive as much pleasure from it as you are able to, and let it help you to get through your day!

THE RIGHT OF THE INDIVIDUAL TO BE PROTECTED FROM AN EXISTENCE WORSE THAN DEATH - BRITAIN'S SUPREME COURT TAKE NOTE! THE END.

Image
Yes, I should probably not pre-judged the likely decision of the erudite and eminent judges who will be hearing this case. Yet, considered in the still prevailing socio-political and religious context which tend to surround these cases, it is difficult to be optimistic.   In deference to our 'make-belief gods' and unscientific and illogical religious beliefs about life and death, innocent people like Mr Conway must be condemned to an existence of 'living death.' Be removed from the world of the living, where none can hear their silent and terrified screams, because their illnesses has perniciously robbed them of their voices, and their bodies of movements and the ability to communicate non-verbally. So, will the Supreme Court Judges hearing Mr Conway's case pass judgement in his favour and best interests, or in the favour and assumed best interest of the proverbial public? Will the Judges rule in what is described at 'the public's interests',
