The death of Morgan, yes, like the death of most people, is a sad inevitability.  And yet, Morgan Tsvangirai, should loom as tall and as extensive in the annals of Zimbabwe's history and future.  As that of former President Robert Mugabe. There is great controversy taking place in the British political establishment at present.  The same being fuelled by the British media. So, what is the cause of this great controversy, and controversy is really the operative word, since we are not talking about an informed, open and honest debate occurring?  No, we are talking about an emotional and almost Christian fundamentalist controversy, witch-hunt, even.  An inquisitorial investigation of alleged wrong-doing by some workers of  Oxfam, one of Britain's major charities.  It is not a debate, because all, or nearly all the commentaries, reports, opinions, etc, seem to have placed Oxfam in the dock.   In the public pillory, although no criminal investigations have yet taken place.  But who needs the police and judiciary to carry out investigations and decide whether there are prima facie  grounds to bring criminal prosecution.   When you have the baying investigators journalists of the media, and the 'former

South Africa and its people, or, rather, a large proportion of them, are having a tough time.  Something which is not made any less untenable by President Jacob Zuma's corrupt and authoritarian rule of the country, and the adverse impact it is having on the country's financial, economic and political standing.  For the elites, President Zuma's saving grave is also what is his vice for the majority of South Africans; his corrupt nature.  Him wanting it all, not for the common people, as it were, but for himself.  President Zuma is motivated by his own self-interest, his desire to achieve great wealth, which he has now acquired, but which might be, figuratively, forced down his stomach. Seemingly like the gambler on a loosing streak, who insist on continuing to gamble in the hope of winning back his losses, so does the failing or failed political leader, like a leech, insists on holding on to power.  Like a rottweiler, he sinks his teeth into the country, and refused to have it prised out of his jaws.  Thereby proclaiming for all, that, his intention to take the country and its people down with him. This is a brief video of some Gulls and Ducks having a brief interaction on the Canal, on a cold but dry Winter's day in February.  If it appears that the ducks, at some point in the encounter, are walking on water, that is because there were small 'islands' of frozen water at some points in the Canal.  Please take a look, and, if you are so moved, enjoy the bit of spectacle!
