BRITAIN'S GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS - WELL DONE, BRITAIN, YOU HAVE WON THIS STAGE! PART.1.

Image
'Soon, the euphoria will become abated, and it will become clear that the 'new messiah' is no more a miracle worker than the previous ones, and that the people are still burdened by the same problems of old, with new ones added. That they want to be relieved of them, sooner than has been promised, and are not afraid to turn against the 'new messiah.' These are doubts and concerns which apply not only to Remainers in other parties, but also to many in the Conservative Party.  To Tory politicians who are concerned about Britain leaving Europe, filing for a divorce but then wanting to re-engage with the EU under 'a cohabitation agreement', with, if possible, a ' reverse post-nuptial clause.'  Issues such as how best to tackle the currently increasing threat and acts of terrorism in Britain, and in Europe, in general.  Issues such as the wisdom of Britain's ever closer link with the Saudi Monarchy and its Sunni coalition.  The in

'In politics, like in many or all events which are yet to take place, you cannot guarantee that you will get what you wish for, or be able to deliver the promise you have made. So, be honest, add a proviso, such as, all things being equal or constant, which they rarely are, in a changing and revolving world.' A big Congratulation to the the British electorate who bothered to cast their vote during the 2017 British general election.   Which has resulted in, after the votes for 646 of the 650 constituency seats were counted.   313 seats for the ruling Conservative Party, 261 for the Labour Party, 12 for the Liberal-Demorcat Party, and 35 for the Scottish Nationalist Party. With a reported 76 per cent of the British electorate voting, it should still be a matter of concern that 24 per cent, for various reasons.  But probably mainly their complacency and sense of disillusionment with party politics, and politics in general.   Did not bother to make the effort t

MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN - WHAT DEFINITION, WHICH PERIOD? PART 2.

Image
''Great words',  propelled from the mouth of an unwise person do not make for the realisation of a great reality, as words, of themselves, cannot realise the meaning they are given.' But what does all of this, almost frivolous and populist use of the terminology or adjective, 'great', means? When Donald Trump flippantly speaks of 'making America great again', should he not then follow it up by defining what he means by that phrase?  Should he not have to go beyond the throw-away dictum about creating more jobs and buying American made products?  Not being a party to any trade or environmental agreements and obligations.   Which places any restrictions on America, and come at the price of jobs which are located in industries which are damaging humans and the environment?  Should President Trump not be required to outline his vision of 'making America Great again', if he has a clear vision. And do so beyond the country wagging its

JUST A THOUGHT - SAUDI ARABIA'S ATTACK ON QATAR; THE ALLIANCE THAT MONEY BOUGHT!

Image
'The role and response of governments in the West, to the Saudi attack on Qatar, compared to their response to the Russian role in the Ukraine crisis.   Speaks loudly of the West's duplicity and acceptance of the flaunting of international law and respect for national sovereignty.   In the conduct of international relations and diplomacy, in countries and regions outside of Europe and white led governments around the world.  The Saudis have bought the loyalty and support of the American, British and French governments, just as any feudal potentate might have done hundreds of years ago.  Except that it is now the 21st Century, and the West says it is all about 'democracy', although it appears to be 'all about the money.' The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has, as has been its tendency, made a brutal attack on the government and people of Qatar.  At this stage, this attack is limited to economic, travel and political sanctions, which, as with the Saudi att

EUROPE'S MUSLIM COMMUNITIES - DEALING SENSITIVELY WITH INCONVENIENT TRUTHS! THE END!

Image
And while it is the inconvenient truth that, in this case of terrorism, it is Muslims who have declared their allegiance to Islamic State, who poses this particular risk.  Which is why the Muslim communities are being the main focus of the security services and coming under suspicions by their non-Muslim compatriots.  It is the way it is, but it is also ipso facto that the Muslim community, as a whole should not be given reasons to show they are being  unfairly targeted and of being made to suffer for the crimes and evil intents of a minority of Muslims.  They should be treated with defference, respect and sensitivity. If one is not to make avoidable enemies of or discomfort whole communities, in an attempt to find a 'minority of bad people.  Especially when doing so, could make the achievement of that objective more difficult. The values which underpins European enlightenment, are not the values which were operative before the enlightenment.  Europe has now be

JUST A THOUGHT - THE VOTER'S DILEMMA : WHO OR WHICH PARTY SHOULD I VOTE FOR? THE END!

Image
Having pondered the party's 'credibility' and 'reliability' factors, as they apply to his/her preferred party.   The voters might eventually make their voting choice based on 'traditional party loyalty.' By sticking to the party he/she 'always vote for.'  Although this might be the case with the majority of 'loyalist voters', and represents the core of the party's support, it might not be what determines whether or not they win an election.   Instead, what can oftentimes determine whether or not a party wins an election, can be the percentage of the electorate that participate in 'tactical' voting.  The proportion of voters who, for their own political reasons, decide not to vote for the party they traditionally support, if any, but to vote for one of the parties opposing that party.  In the hope of preventing their traditional party from being able to implement a proposed policy which they strongly op
