AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 125

When I rang the relevant ambulance service, expecting that that they would surely know which of their vehicle had my dear mother in it and where they had or were taking her, they were unable to give me that information. My dilemma was only resolved when, not long after ringing the ambulance service, a call came through on my dear mother's landline, which I answered.  The caller gave me his name and and the name of the hospital he was calling from, which was not the usual one.  He then sought confirmation that I was my dear mother's son, before asking about her medical history.  I advised him that I did not want her to be subjected to any painful procedures, and he said he would inform the doctor and that they would get back to me later. It was fortuitous that I happened to be in my dear mother's apartment when the call came through. Was it really necessary or essential for my dear mother to be taken to A&E on that occasion and be subjected to whatever anxieties she ha

For Camp Red Bull, it was a case of 'we have been robbed.' It was a case of 'Max had been unfairly tripped and raced over by Lewis.' Horner found himself unable to contain himself and became nearly incandescent with self-righteous anger and indignation.  Unable to exercise due caution or diplomacy; to give himself more thinking and reflection time.  He found himself thinking with his tongue, which, to be fair, as did many others.  Both people in the Formula 1 industry and lay people who just like to watch and enjoy the races.  People who have become addicted and some of whom have come to imagine themselves to be more knowledgeable about Formula 1 racing than they/we really are. It was a rather tense and highly charged situation, with both Horner and Toto contacting the stewards to let them know how each of them were seeing the incident.  Which was that their respective racer was right and the other was wrong.  Which meant that both Hamilton and Verstappen had not done

They raced as it two competing demons had possessed them, with neither man willing to give an inch or centimetre, without insisting on reclaiming double what the had had to concede at the next available opportunity.  It was one of those occasions when survival seemed precarious, but at the same time, offered commensurate spoils.  Mind you, this was not a situation in which either Lewis or Max, could have guaranteed that any coming together of their mean machines w ould not have violently removed both of them from the race.   This, I believe, mean that we can surmise that, any coming together, would most probably be accidental, even if avoidable, but not intentional.   Indeed, Mercedes has since disclosed that that, had the race not been Red Flagged, Hamilton would have had to DNF, as his car would not have been sufficiently repairable. Be that as it may, the outcome of the spectacular collision was that Max's race ended very dramatically, and him having to be given evaluatory med

So let it be said, that every person who witnessed Max Verstappen's car diagonally  rocketing towards the barriers of the Silverstone Circuit, and then becoming transformed from it sleek and beautiful form into a manacled and contorted near unrecognised object.  Will have breathe a heavy sigh of relieve and be thankful that he was able to escape with his life, and only minor physical harm, though probably more significant psychological ones As those of us watching looked at the horror playing out before our eyes followed Max's car on its way to being smashed, we scoured the landscape trying to see if we could see Lewis' car.  Not surprisingly, the shock of having Max's cruel fate impacting our senses, were, at least for those of us who are Lewis' fans, was only balanced by the sense of relief that Lewis' car had survived the incident with nothing comparable to Max's.  And, with the race having been Red Flagged, even as the competitors begin to accommodate

So why would I not have expected to see her and probably the paramedics in her apartment as I used her keysafe to gain access to it?  Why indeed, as to my shock, my astonishment, a quick look in her bedroom and lounge revealed no sign of my dear mother.  Yes, she has disappeared, with me having no prior information of where she had been taken to.  With the expectation of seeing her having been replaced with the bewilderment of not knowing where she might be, except for the hospital, I resorted to doing some checks.  The first of which was to contact the A&E department of the hospital she is usually taken to.  No, said the relevant staff I spoke to; she not been admitted. Not to worry, I had thought to myself.  I could remember an ambulance exiting from the road leading to my dear mother's living complex as I had entered the same road.  Putting two and two together, I I concluded that that was probably the ambulance taking my dear mother to the hospital, and resolved to give i

We do not expect white elites and the middle classes to give up their wealth to poor and working class white people, to get them out of poverty. That is not how humans, especially contemporary humans behave. So, why would or should anybody expect that the white elites, never mind the ordinary white working classes and poor people, would, or should do it for black people and people of colour?  It is neither rational, nor is it the most desirable way to heal the wounds and hurt feelings about the  past . Black and other people of colour only have to turn the mirror on themselves and address the question to persons they are looking at in it.  'If it were you, would you do what you are asking white people to do?'  Would you honestly give up what or some of what you have worked for, and hand it over to the descendants of people whom your ancestors or forefathers had enslaved and oppressed.  Even though they are the descendants and not the actual people who were enslaved, and you d

Not when decisions, once implemented, can develop their own momentum and lead to situations which were not intended or anticipated.  Like the trigger for my dear mother's most recent journey to A&E. Yes, it was the case that she had a fall which saw her ended up on her carpeted floor.  However, there was no observable injuries or other indications of harm.  Nevertheless, with the paramedics having been called, primarily because of her advanced age and probably the paramedics not having dealt with her before.   The decision was taken to transport my dear mother to the A&E department of a different hospital to the one she had, on several occasions, been taken before.  Just so that the medical staff could check her out to make sure that everything was alright.  Which is how they had seemed before she was taken on that unknown journey to that different hospital.  Where she would be subjected to additional procedures to the 'vital checks' which the paramedics would hav
