VENEZUELA.S PRESIDENT NICHOLAS MADURO - THE MOST EFFECTIVE DESTROYER OF THE 'BOLIVARIAN REVOLUTION!'

Image
President Nicola Maduro might, in his demented perception, sees himself as the protector of the 'Chavistas revolution. But nothing could be farther from the truth.  He is its most effective enemy, who is doing a quite brilliant job at destroying the last vestiges of that revolution. He might see himself as Hugo Chavez's heir, but, if that is what he is, he is a most profligate heir. And one who is squandering and trampling on Venezuela's heritage and the legacy of the Chavistas revolution. He is a revisionist, and enemy of the very revolution to which he mouths loyalty.  Maduro is behaving like a mad man; a leader who has lost all reason.  He is like another Robert Mugabe. Instead of serving the Chavistas revolution, he is doing all he can to dishonour, discredit and destroy it. All of which begs the question; Why did Hugo Chavez, of all the contenders, choose Nicholas Maduro, a man who is doing all he can to live up to the meaning of the first syllable of h

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE UNACCEPTABLE THREAT OF URBAN DEPRIVATION! PART 1.

'Probably the biggest threat which which is facing the so-called developed and lesser developed societies in all parts of the world. Is that posed by urban poverty and deprivation, and the spawning ground for drugs and gang violence which they represents.  If this problem, this curse, is not effectively prevented, then it is likely that the more 'law-abiding' sections of these societies.  Will find themselves increasingly encircled and being contracted, the growth of the 'alternative social cultures and realities.' We tend to hear a lot about the Favelas of Brazil, the slums of certain places in other countries, such as Jamaica, Honduras, Chile, Peru, Columbia, Brazil, South Africa, Nigeria, et al.  And what is it that all of these and other places have in common? Namely the gravitation of poor people moving towards the big towns and their surrounds, in the hope of getting jobs and being able to have a better standard of living.  However, confr

EUROPE AND THE WORLD AT A TRANSFORMATIONAL PERIOD IN HISTORY? THE END!

With the likelihood of a fundamental shift in the formerly cosy American, Saudi Arabian and Israeli ruling alliance in the Middle East.  And the re-intervention of the Russians, several decades after they had been forced out, the region is now ready for a much needed realignment.  Something which is already underway, with Iran, Iraq, Syria and, probably to a lesser extent, Turkey, building an alliance.  At the same time, we are witnessing probably a fundamental break in the relationship between Qatar and her former Gulf Cooperation Council partners.  Something which could lead to Qatar building stronger ties with her Iranian neighbour. Further eastward, things are not improving for Iran's neighbour, Afghanistan.  A long suffering country and nation, which could benefit from some effective diplomatic intervention from, amongst others, Russia and Iran.   In helping to bring about some accommodation between the Afghan Taliban and the Afghan government.

The happiness and survival of the masses. It is not about just creating more jobs and employment.  More wealth, increasing the level of education, although it is vital that us humans should become more aware of how, not so much 'different peoples.'  Since we are all the same species, but people in different parts of the world, making use of their particular circumstances, are living their lives, and how their worldviews are derived from those circumstances.  So, yet, the increase of knowledge is crucial, so that better understanding can be had, and set the basis for better cooperation among humans. It is not likely that this kind of enlightened leadership is going to come from the 'old world.'  Not from the United Kingdom, from America, or France. Quite simply, they have become somewhat of a spent force, and have taken the world as far as they are able to do.  Probably just as how Christians and other religions have looked to the East for their

AMERICA'S CONSISTENT DISRESPECT OF RUSSIA; IT THERE NO END TO THIS FOLLY?

'In matters of diplomacy and international relations, if nation A gets the same responses from nation B, or nation B and its allies. Irrespective of what it says and/or does, then it is likely that the problem lies with nation B, and not with nation A.'  In such a case, it will be prudent for nation A to take effective action to protect itself from the likely conspiracy which nation B is either planning and/or perpetrating against it.'  What is wrong with the government of the United States of America; with the American Establishment, that 'swam which the Republicons said they want to drain? How can it be that, in July 2017, America's House of Representatives voted by 400-3, to impose economic and political sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as against the states of Iran and North Korea? As I said, what is wrong with the American government? What is is about this government that, when it comes to its relationship with Iran and Russ

The United Kingdom, which should be playing a significant role in helping to transform our conflicted world into something better.  Has, as a result of its Brexitisation, and its confusion about what should be its role in the world, placed itself in a position of acute disempowerment.  It seems to no longer know 'whether it is coming or going', as the saying goes. And is therefore unable to viewed with much confidence. The Middle East, tragically, continues to be what it has been for the past decades. A place of religious conflict and intolerance, cultural and political orthodoxy, and the ossification of relations between Israel and the Palestinians.  Except that it has become more so now, with the Saudi semi-destruction of Yemen, its role in taking Syrian to the bring of destruction of its sovereignty, and her current attempt to occupy Qatar. It is quite clear that, what the world needs, now, is prudent and competent leadership.  Something of

JUST A THOUGH - ENJOY YOUR GARDEN, BUT FIRST, PLANT AND NURTURE IT!

Image
And so it is that some of us humans are not lovers of gardens and appreciators of the beauty of a verdant garden.   With plants of different kinds, flowers of radiant and different colours, and birds and animals which have chosen our gardens as their habit or homes, enabling us to observe, know and understand them better. Plants which are helping to filter the air surrounding our homes, consuming, by the process of photosynthesis, our poisonous carbon monoxide and secreting us breathable oxygen. How is it that, at a time when our atmosphere is and has become so poisonous that we seem to take for granted the life-giving quality of plant life?  That we continue to make war with our environment. Not only do we relentlessly invade the forests, the woods and deplete them.  But many of us also banish the floral gardens from our homes, and replace them  with 'concrete desertification.'  Not that urban humans need to cut down trees to use as fuel. Like so many of our le
