LEWIS HAMILTON AND THE JAPANESE GRAND PRIX MEDIA MISADVENTURES - STEP BACK AND BE MORE LIKE THE JAPANESE, LEWIS!

Image
Lewis and Nico had a great contest for Pole position at the Japanese Grand Prix Qualifying, with Nico Rosberg just pipping Lewis Hamilton to take the position, by less than a metre. All of which meant that Formula 1 fans and spectators alike, should be in for a great race tomorrow; with Lewis in play for his third ~Japanese Grand Prix win; providing he can calm his anger over what some people saw as him being disrespectful at the Formula 1 Drivers Conference on Thursday, and what even more will see as his petulance and lack of control, in walking out of the post Qualifying press briefing. Lewis, it does seem to me that you did the wrong thing on Thursday, and, if you had been slapped down by your employer and the media, you probably should just eat a bit of humble pie and show some humility. The media attacked you and you retaliated; probably without thinking through what you had really done.  You might have seen your focus on Snapchat as just a bit of fun, but your timi

A THOUGHT FOR NOW -THE IRONY OF MAKING WEAPONS OF WAR AS A WAY OF LIVING!

Image
So, how ironic is it that an industry, the sole purpose of which is to ensure death and the threat of it, should exist as a major part of any country's industrial and economic livelihood? Is this not giving legitimacy to the act of killing, and killing on a mass scale? Should we even seek to apply the question of morality to this industry, and use it to analyse the 'rights or wrongs' of such an industry? After all, the creation of 'the arms industry' is not a new one. We could argue that it has always been around since us humans evolved to walk on two feet, instead of 4, and graduated from using our flint knives, axes, spears, tomahawks and bow and arrows to kill animals to feed our families, to using them to attack and make war on other tribes who invaded the lands we occupied, or whose lands we want to occupy. According to the Christian Bible, Cain was responsible for having slain his brother, Abel, apparently because of jealousy over the fact th

BRITAIN'S REVOLUTIONARY PRIME MINISTER - WILL SHE LIVE THE TALK? THE END, FOR NOW.

Image
In summary, Prime Minister May's speech was all about a 'one Britain' concept, about unity of people and purpose, and about inclusivism. If students work hard in their studies, and later, everybody work hard and work together, not only will everybody succeed, but Britain will also succeeds.  Britain's version of 'the American Dream', which we already know, does not work for millions of Americans; irrespective of hard they study and work. Meritocray, like people, it seems, needs an helping hand for it to work efficiently and effectively. Of less certainty, is whether the Prime Minister, unlike President Obama, whose presidency is ending just as hers is starting, will be able to deliver the bold and grand vision she is projecting. After all, how ironic it is, that, just as Britain begins the process of giving effect to Brexit - Britain's decision to leave the European Union - her Prime Minister should be extolling the desirability, the merits, the

A THOUGHT FOR NOW - FROM WHERE I AM CONTEMPLATING.

And so it is, that, whereas a young person contemplates the centre of the world or universe and how she/he will navigate their way to it, the older person contemplates the journey he or she is now completing, as oblivion calls or beckons.  The younger person looks towards the mountains they have to climb, while the older person looks back from the mountains they have already climbed. And so it is that the younger and the older generations have their own perspectives, born of their experiences and knowledge, and or their lack of knowledge and experience.  It is really the case that we all navigate the journey of living, and probably share many commonalities, but the journey, for each of us, is truly unique, as we perceive and experience it, in parts at least, from our own peculiar perspective. It is, of course, not surprising that the older generations should want to use their knowledge and experiences to prevent the younger generations from having to pay the he

A Pair Of Crows And A Pair Of Magpies Chillin On The Tree Top!

Image
One pair of Magpies and one pair of Crows, relaxing at the top of a favourite tree, while they vigilantly keep watch on the opposition. In due course one of the Crows ascended further up the tree, followed by one the Magpies descending further down, but still above the pair of Crows. Not sure of the significance of either action, whether the latter was a response to the former. The two pairs of birds were not at interactive as previous sets have been observed to behave, nevertheless, you might find this video or parts of it entertaining. Do take a look and destress, if you are.

BRITAIN'S REVOLUTIONARY PRIME MINISTER - WILL SHE LIVE THE TALK? PART 2.

Image
In the meantime, the British people might be willing to listen patiently and respectfully to the Prime Minister, while they suspend their disbelief. They might pinch themselves as the logical side of their intellect begin to come alive and give birth to the thought of, 'have we not heard that before?' Or, ' is it not normal for politicians to promise us the earth, but fall short of delivering anything near what they promise us? After all, Prime Minister May is speaking with Obamaesque charm and passion, and is telling the British people what any reasonable person would want to hear, and would, if they are to continue to present themselves as being 'reasonable', cannot reasonably take issue with. Does it not make imminently good sense for the Prime Minister to want to work with her cabinet, her party and the British people to 'make the country works for everyone, and not just the privileged few'?  Lichfied Cathedral, United Kingdom. Who c

A THOUGHT FOR NOW - PRESIDENT OBAMA'S LEGACY: THE REBIRTH OF THE COLD WAR? THE END.

Image
After the tide of history is finished with it, will President Obama has any complimentary legacy to speak of? We have also seen President Obama choosing to effectively assume the position of  ignoring the excesses of the Egyptian military and political and economic elite, as they overthrew the elected government of Mr Morsi. Egypt is America's friend, and, if this friendship has to be maintained or protected by the deaths, torture and incarceration of hundreds of thousands of Egyptian citizens, then, that is a decision America is willing to leave to the government of Egypt. As if what they, Britain, France and America, are doing in Syria is not bad enough, probably the biggest failure of the Obama presidency, is the deterioration in the West's relationship with Russia, and the re-ignition of the Cold War between the two. This is a situation which has arisen from the relentless policy of containment of Russia, by expanding NATO upto the borders of the Russian Federat

BRITAIN'S NEW REVOLUTIONARY PRIME MINISTER - WILL SHE LIVE THE TALK?

Image
Is the British Prime Minister promising the British people the birth of a golden age? I do not know if I should begin by saying it has been my privilege to listen to part of Prime Minister Theresa May's  Party's Conference speech, considering her continued emphasis on making 'Britain work for everyone', and not just the 'privileged few.' Yet, in listening to the Prime Minister, without the filters of any political party's dogma and diatribe, except that, as a rule, we should not take politicians at face value, I have to confess that I do find her interesting and commanding of my attention. I detect something probably out of the ordinary about Theresa May. She speaks commandingly and with convictions. She seems to believe what she is saying, and she is telling Britain and the British people that she intends to get the job - that of 'making Britain works for everyone - done. The Prime Minister spoke with emphasis and passion, in probably an Oba

A THOUGHT FOR NOW - PRESIDENT OBAMA'S LEGACY: THE REBIRTH OF THE COLD WAR? PART.2

Following on from the success of the Iran Nuclear agreement, the President also acquired another success in precipitating what might now develop into the full 'normalisation of relations and trade between America and Cuba, after the lifting of, again, the unfair and unjust trade embargo on that country. This success is one which has a lot of strategic importance for America, since, while it will undoubtedly benefit the Cuban people in the material and social standards of their lives, it might weaken the influence of the socialism over the individual citizens.  It will also have the impact of weakening the solidarity between Cuba and the leftist regimes in the Americas.  As each country prioritise placing their own economies in a position where they are better able to meet the reasonable needs and aspirations of their citizen. With international solidarity taking second place. President Obama has also had valuable successes in realising at least some of his aspirations fo
