BRITAIN'S REVOLUTIONARY PRIME MINISTER - WILL SHE LIVE THE TALK? PART 2.

In the meantime, the British people might be willing to listen patiently and respectfully to the Prime Minister, while they suspend their disbelief. They might pinch themselves as the logical side of their intellect begin to come alive and give birth to the thought of, 'have we not heard that before?' Or, ' is it not normal for politicians to promise us the earth, but fall short of delivering anything near what they promise us?

After all, Prime Minister May is speaking with Obamaesque charm and passion, and is telling the British people what any reasonable person would want to hear, and would, if they are to continue to present themselves as being 'reasonable', cannot reasonably take issue with. Does it not make imminently good sense for the Prime Minister to want to work with her cabinet, her party and the British people to 'make the country works for everyone, and not just the privileged few'?

Who could take issue with that, or with her extolling the virtue of the 'privileged few' putting their shoulders and their wealth into giving a hand to the 'less fortunate'? To their flagging or faltering countrymen and women, who, thought they have undertaken the quest for the 'privileged life', have still fallen short of their goal, and need and helping hand to realise the Prime Minister's aspiration for them?

And so it is that, Prime Minister May has laid out her vision to make her country works for everyone, using the motivation of 'merit' and stimulus of 'opportunity', to usher in her meritocracy.

And so shall the people be enamoured by the realisation that, no longer shall the elite be elevated to the top of the tree with the support of inherited wealth, family lineage and according to which school they attended and who they know, but rather on the 'merit' of their own hard and diligent work, both in the educational institutions they attend, and the work they move on to do.

The road towards meritocracy will always be easier for some than for others, where it actually exist.

'A level playing field', as it were, not only for the 'privileged few' but also for the not so privileged many. If only.

She, Prime Minister May, spoke, probably like no other senior British politician has ever spoken for many years, of the injustices which British black young men have experiences as a result of, e/g., the former Stop and Search policies used by the police. She cited her apparent concern that young black women are up to 7 times more likely to suffer from mental disorder than their white compatriots, and of how white working class pupils are doing worse, academically, than all other categories of pupils.

All of this coming from a former Home Secretary who has been known to be tough on law and order, but who also was not afraid to challenge her the Police Federation.  In these pronouncements, we can see Prime Minister May giving some indication of her awareness of what is taking place in the United States, in the confrontation over how the American Police have been disrespecting black Americans and the poor, in general.

Yes, we have been here before what is going to be different about the promises of Theresa May's vision of a future Britain?
