PORTUGUESE GRAND PRIX - TEAM MERCEDES AND HAMILTON AND BOTTAS DOMINATE TO MAKE IT P.1 AND P.2! PART 1.

Image
Having good cars and the right team to make them work as they are intended to, are key aspects of the Mercedes Team magic.  And once again, these magicians have done their work and, as should be expected. Provided a magical performance at the Qualifying stage of the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix. So, once again, A Very Big Congratulation to Team Mercedes and their ace racers, Hamilton and Bottas, for making to a P.1 and P.2 for tomorrow's Grand Prix.  Hamilton needed two laps, a second bite of the cherry if you like, to out-done his colleague, after Bottas bettered his, Hamilton's first lap during Q.3. But who cares, you might be thinking, unless you happens to be Bottas or his erstwhile supporters? What's done has been done and Bottas did not have the opportunity to have another go. Tough as it might be for the worthy contender that Valtteri Bottas is. To be continued!

T WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 64.

Of course there were times in this or that prison when he would be seriously assaulted, being knocked to the floor and kicked in his head, eg, but he would survive all that he was fated to endure. His anger with the system, and his absorption by the paraphernalia of the criminal subculture might have assisted his journey.  As might have his 'black and white' perception of politics, race and music. As might have his return to writing poetry.  Things were tough and very tough at times, but the family found visiting Kazaliwa helping then in continuing to manage the pain of his incarceration and the threat it presented to his welfare.   Seeing him would reassure them that he was alright, he was coping. They found his rejection of his mixed-race relatives painful and poignant.  Whether by design or some unexplained phenomenon, it did not make sense to them that he could have moved from a position of moderation, of acceptance of his relatives to one of rejection and denial.  At the

And here I am aware that the advocates of the 'rights of the unborn developing child', will probably argue that it is in the best interest that they be born.  Which might also not be the case, as nobody can be certain of which unborn child is destined to have a good or miserable life.  Or who is going to be a blessing or a curse to humanity. One  wants you to support their right to keep foreigners out of their country; the country they are living in and consider to be their own. One  wants you to support their right to be able to travel and live in which ever country they desire to live in. All or most of the above 'freedoms', you might agree, have merits.   Although none of them can be achieved without incurring some kind of cost to somebody or something. To be continued!

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 97

It is, sadly, something which can only end, for me and/or my dear mother, in the deathly embrace of death, of destiny.  Because, what we have learnt, have become a part of our physical architecture. Synapses are established in our brains.  We have become hardwired, programmed, as it were, with links being made in channels of flesh and blood.  Channels in which information, knowledge and the particularistic ways, born of decades of experience and now controlled subconsciously.   In which we receive and analyse, process and transmit or communicate with others and the world. have become fixed, and cannot be easily or readily amended.  As we aged, the flexibility of our minds, our ability to reflect on and change how we perceive of the things in our world, and our attitude and reactions to them, have become less flexible.  Like our aging bodies and joints, our intellect and our minds lose their flexibility, their resilience and their ability to bounce back into their previous or even bet

So, consider this. There are six people pleading for you to support their case for being allowed to enjoy the following 'freedoms.' One wants you to support his/her 'right' to express their political views and opposed the current government. One wants you to support his/her 'right' to travel to a country where they can endeavour to get a 'job paying a decent wage or salary.   So that he/she can provide a good life for their family. One wants you to advocate their right to practice the religion of their choice.  Or, as might be more accurate, the religion into which they have been born and socialised.  And to be able to do so free of any actions by the state to prevent them doing so. One wants you to support their right to have an abortion.   If they have decided that they need to do so, or that it is in the best interests of themselves and others to do so.  To be continued!
