  Russia, under the stewardship of  its previously seeming rational and prudent President Vladimir Putin, has launched a massive blitzkrieg attack on its neighbour, Ukraine, in February 2022, calling it a "Special Military Operation.  Of course, such was the intensive and extensive nature of the attack, which is still on-going, that it is noting short of Russia declaring war on Ukraine.  To call it anything else has to be considered as abject  and transparent attempt to deceive people - all the people - about the true nature of the President's objectives, and the means by which he hoped to achieve them.
