JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW HUNGARY'S CHRISTIANITY AND CIVILISATION HAS NO PLACE IN THE 21ST CENTURY. THE END, FOR NOW!

Considering that, historically, the Muslim Ottoman Empire, and Christian Hungary, have been in conflict, with Hungary succumbing to becoming a part of the Ottoman Empire. So, it could be argued, Hungary, b. Is only being prudent, and reducing the chances of falling under Islamic rule again. Irrespective of how unlikely and how 'un-Christian' its approach might appear to be. At the sametime, it is difficult to condone Hungary's, in my view, racist response or reaction to the plight of the migrants and the refugees.  Sometimes, it is not so much what a country does, but rather how it does it.  Sometimes a country, which we sometimes wrongly personifies, has to behave in an inhospitable manner, but its leader has the courage and language to explain why it has had to do what it has done.  Without having to demonise those who have to pay the price of its actions.  In Viktor Orban's  and Hungary's case, he has gone out of his way to be offensiv

After all, 'being black', like 'being white' or 'Asian', et al, is not of itself, a virtuous state of being.  It is the quality of work of the person that helps to define their virtue.  This is especially so, in societies in which a person's ethnicity is used to make stereotyped assumptions about them.  In this respect, anybody who seeks to judge the value of the Duchess of Sussex on what she will or will not achieve for 'black people', are misguided and unrealistic. The Duchess of Sussex becoming a member of the Royal Family will not, of itself, lead to it becoming ' a rainbow Royal Family.'   But it will, indeed, add some diversity to it, and make it more representative of British society.  As such, that is an achievement; progress which could also lead to more young British people of colour being able to identify with the Royal Family, if not the British Monarchy as a whole.  But, beyond this, it is probably un

So, there we have the Establishment's response to Mr Conley's case, to be allowed to exercise his right to die with dignity and respect.  Once he is no longer able to live a liveable life. There we have 'the religious and sanctimonious' response from the same British Judiciary. The same one which gave us the British and American led war on Iraq.  You must be joking; you must be having a very demented laugh as justice! 'Significance of sanctity of life", Sir Etherton?  Do not be too concerned with it, Sir. Because, in truth, life has never in the history of humans, been 'sanctified.' Be concerned more about the quality and enjoyability of living, and not of a life which is beyond living! Respect for the 'sanctity of life', would have required you and your colleagues to allow unfortunate people, humans like Mr Conley, to exercise their human right to have a dignified death.  And not to condemn them to

This is a development which will widen the range of positive 'role models' available for young people of colour, in the first instance, but also to young people in general,of whatever colour.  After all, it is always worthwhile for us to be aware of the fact that all of us have not only one, but several 'identities.'   All or some of which  might be contention or conflict at times.  For example, in the case of the now Duchess of Sussex, she is not only a Royalty, but she is a female Royalty.  She is also a woman, a black or 'mixed-race' woman, an American, now a British citizen, and a member of the human race.  There are times when any of these different but essential 'identities, might come under stress. I have heard some facile black persons making throwaway comments about the Duchess' ethnic origin.'  Probably the most stupid of which is that about her 'not being really black, and not looking like what I take to

So, which element or principle of 'justice' should be given priority, when it is argued that the judgement being sought by the petitioner, might conflict with 'the perceived and/or actual rights' of others?  Even when those rights, at the point of determining the matter before the court, are not in question?  Is it to be the punitive element of justice which offers no relief to the petitioner, which is given priority?  Or is it to be the deterrential element. That which saw, sorry, us 'wisemen and women' cannot allow any changes, because such changes might cause harm to others in future?  What are we to make of a group of asinine British Judges who, asked to deliberate on a man's request to have his right to be assisted to die given effect?  Decided to maintain the status quo, by kick the decision back to the politicians in Parliament?  I mean, it was meant that there should be a separation of powers in the British State, with the 'ordin

IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 18.

'Like death and bereavement, there are times when we seen to be the only one or ones experiencing what seems like 'our worst nightmares.'   Yet, given some space and objectivity, we soon become aware of the fact that.   'Our worst nightmares' are in fact no more than the everyday adversities which many other people are having to contend with.' As Kazaliwa’s life spiralled out of control, at least, the control of his parents and family, the concerns and anxieties of his family would continue to increase. His parents and brother would always be worried when he was out.   As they could not know what he was up to, and would always, most probably be correct, in feeling anxious that he was not up to anything good.  Police from the local police station would begin to visit the family’s home.  And, as the days merged into weeks and the weeks merged into months and months into years, the frequency of the police’s visits would increased.

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON 'KNOWING OURSELVES'; MAKING THE JOURNEY OF! PART 4.

Where should be or is the best place from which to embark on what could, indeed, be the fantastic voyage or journey of knowing yourself? Of course, the only real model of knowing myself, which I have, is that of knowing me. 'Me', or 'I', of course, is largely a 'personalise' or internalise version of the 'we', the 'us', the 'them', and the 'other.' Put more succinctly, the 'them' and the 'other', if we perceive of them as society, the societies into which I/you were born and nurtured.   It is the 'them', my parental society, which has first given meaning to my life and how I should live it.  When you and I were born, we were not born with the power of ergosumness. The power to think, and to reason.  The power to speak our 'mother tongue', without having to learn how to do so. Yes, to a large extent, the newly born baby or human, is really like a blank slate, tabula rasa.

And, yes, Austria, the country where that towering barbarian, Adolph Hitler was born. Of course racism and viral nationalism are not the preserve of any one state or country. Instead, but it appears, one of the selfish genetic potential with which all humans are cursed.  But, for the purpose of this post, it is Hungary that I intend to focus on. Hungary is a relatively small central European Stat with a population of probably less than 11 million people, of mostly a variety of Christians denomination.  And with a Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, who aspires towards becoming a small fish with a big splash, in the European Union pool.  Viktor Orban is a man who is unashamedly nationalistic in his leadership of Hungary. So much so that it is difficult to ascertain whether there is any discernible difference between his version of nationalism and state racism.  Orban is somewhat of of the same principle of governance as that of Recep Erdogan, the President of Turkey
