AM I AN ANTI-SEMITE, OR BEING ANTI-SEMITIC? PART 4.

It was a time when you could say I was quite steeped in religion, as I even considered becoming a missionary.  I memory which makes me now feel uneasy that I might have been so easily have been on the 'other side of the divide between those who believe and those who do not.'  It might well have been so different, had it not been that, within the context of Christendom.  I still need to go to theological college to, in my view, learn how to become knowledgeable in the history of religious deception.  But back to my knowingly having interacted with Jewish people.  As this man and I indulged in our discussion about religion, and I explained to him what was then my understanding of which of the 12 tribes of Israel I felt I belonged to, according to Bibical stories.  I remembered how I felt deflated, disappointed, when he began to explain to me that all 12 tribes of Ancient Israel, were, in fact, Jews.  And not, as I thought at the time, or, better

It simply makes no sense for the President to speak of ruling the country and its people for one year, should he win the elections.  Which he and the FLN know they are able to deliver, by whatever means necessary, and then have another election.  I mean, for a poor country, why incur the wastage of having two elections when you can have just one?  After all, why has he not already manipulate things in such a way that he already appoint and groom 'a credible' successor? Is this not a sign of his and the FLN's incompetence and machiavellianism? Of course, the other thing which the alienated Algerians who are yearning for freedom from their corrupt ruling party and government, have to consider.   Is the need to avoid the country returning to the brutal and murderous insurgence of the 1990s and early 2002.  There are the examples and lessons from the fate of Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen ad Syria, which should be learnt and applied. The government of

In fact, being pragmatic, when the future is raised or discussed, my dear mother will interject by saying, 'if I am still here.' But even more disconcertingly, my dear mother still does not exhibit or take any joy in savouring the positive, the good and happy moments of her life.  Her preoccupation always tend to be with what she does not or perceives herself as not having.  Whether that is the support of her family, her carers, and, of course, the health service.  She perceives herself to be 'taken for granted', being perceived to be 'of less value and treated less favourably than others.' As us humans grow older, we naturally become more aware of our mortality; the fact that, as it were, death is creeping up on us.  Of course, those of us who find and will find ourselves in that situation might not know if it is a blessing or a curse.  The fact that they/us should, like those of us who, through the pain of having more time

In fact, probably most psychologist, whether their specialism is behavioural, cognitive, psychodynamic or other forms of psychology.  Would acknowledge the importance of infancy and early the formative years and experiences of humans and other primates, in preparing them for adulthood and beyond. This much has been articulated in Erik Erikson's psychosocial Eight Stages of Man (human beings). Infancy - learn about the basic function of the body and how to maintain it with food and drinks. Childhood - stage of basic exploration of self and external environment Adolescence - learn more about the body, relationships, identity, and years of destruction Early Adulthood - industry, relationships and living life in the fast lane Pre-and middle phase of adulthood - years of acquisition and accumulation. ... Years of holding on to what you have It is in the middle of our lives that us humans are probably most productive.  To be continued!

But time has changed, as the saying goes, and the old ways, old loyalties do not carry much, if any weight today.  We must, we should live in the present, whether willingly or involuntarily. Because living in the past is only something which we can attempt through our memory, which, as we grow older, does fade.  And when we think and behave as if we are in the past, it can annoy, frustrate and irritate those close to us, who must live in the present. And this is a big problem for my dear mother and those close to her. Because, while she is clearly living, physically, in the present, her thinking continues to return to the past.  She seems to be increasingly using the past as the prism through which she addresses the present. My dear mother is clear that she has worked hard throughout her working life, and that she is entitled to what she needs and has a right to. Whether that is from her children, the government or society. As she is at present, my dear mo

'Revolutions' are not made as a result of spontaneous and populist protests and insurrectionist action on the streets of a nation.' In this case, that of the former French administered colony, the leading Party, the FLN, has been consuming the very people it was meant to free from French rule.  Denying them the freedom for which earlier generations had struggled, suffered and died The people, the Algerians, might now be free of the French, but not of the FLN, which has now become something probably worse than the French.  Especially when we consider that, nothing better should probably have been expected of the former French colonialist.   Who were ruling the country on behalf of their best interests, and not of the Algerian people.  The latter of which might have been the goal of the FLN in its early years.   Before it drove out the French, replaced their government, and make its goal that of becoming the permanent rulers of the people of Algeria. It

' I wonder what Franz Fanon - The Wretched of the Earth - would have made of what has become and continue to be Algeria and the Algerians.   With foot of the the former French colonialist on the necks of the people, having now been replaced with that of the elites of the FLN?' The people of Algeria, or some of them, are expressing their opposition to their seriously disabled 82 year old and long-serving President, Boutiflika, again running for the Presidency in the pending elections. Had President Boutiflika been a younger and more capable leader, he might have cited discrimination against the disabled.   In defence of why he should be allowed to run again, and probably 'winning' the election and continuing to run the country from his wheelchair.  Doubtlessly with the increased aid and support of the elites whose jobs and financial well-being is dependent on President Boutiflika and his part remaining in power.  But, of course this is not such a c

I am not sure whether this has partly been a result of her unhappy marriage, and/or because she had given up on men, as a result of her experience having been married to one.  If she had had another relationship, it clearly would have had profound impact on her life and that of her family.  What we do not know, is what would have been the positive and negative effect or such a relationship. But there is nothing to be had from speculating about an event which could have, but did not take place. But, as I have surmised, having had an unexceptionally unhappy and tough childhood, and a significantly violent and abusive marriage.   It is probably understandable why she had not had another relationship. Why she had committed herself working, at one stage even doing two jobs, and to looking after her children in their years of vulnerability. My dear mother was brought up in an age, a time when people were defined by the nature of their character, be it a good or ba

'And so it seems to me, that, as strange and apparently paradoxical as it would be, the centuries old animosity between, in the first instance, the Jewish people and the other white Europeans. Are largely predicated upon the myths, deception, beliefs and history of Christendom and Judaism.' Like many non-Jews, I am not or have ever been in a position where I could or can say, many or most of my friends are Jewish people.  As far as I am aware, like many people, I do not have any Jewish friends, not because I have chosen not to, but rather simply because of where I like and my particular life journey.  The same reason why I do not have any Muslim, Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist friends. Which was not the case many years ago when I used to work in the public transport industry. In my decades of living on the Earth, I have only knowingly interacted, personally, with very few Jewish people.  In fact, excluding a former compatriot whom I associated with in my di

Which is one of 'we see and hear of no evil, and will speak of reprimand for Israel, because we own the Jewish people a debt for what our people have done to then in the past.' So, Europe, having, as the argument could be put, sacrificed its own humanity in the past, by giving rise to the Holocaust, can have nothing to say about Israel's acts of inhumanity towards the Palestinians.  In fact, Israel might even be able to say, 'what we have become, is what you, by your attempt to exterminate us, made us become. You have robbed us of our humanity, so do not blame us if, in our desire to survive, we have developed a tendency to not show compassion in our actions towards those we see as our enemies. It seems to me that the what I shall call the personified Jewish worldview, is one of 'the exceptionalism of the Jewish people.  A people whom their God, the God of the Jews, looks upon most favourably and has shown unusual favouratism towards.
