Which is one of 'we see and hear of no evil, and will speak of reprimand for Israel, because we own the Jewish people a debt for what our people have done to then in the past.'

 So, Europe, having, as the argument could be put, sacrificed its own humanity in the past, by giving rise to the Holocaust, can have nothing to say about Israel's acts of inhumanity towards the Palestinians. 

 In fact, Israel might even be able to say, 'what we have become, is what you, by your attempt to exterminate us, made us become.

 You have robbed us of our humanity, so do not blame us if, in our desire to survive, we have developed a tendency to not show compassion in our actions towards those we see as our enemies.


It seems to me that the what I shall call the personified Jewish worldview, is one of 'the exceptionalism of the Jewish people. 

 A people whom their God, the God of the Jews, looks upon most favourably and has shown unusual favouratism towards. 

 So much so that, Jewish people, unlike any other people upon the face of the earth.  Can lay down and give effect to their claim to particular piece of the earth having been given to them by their God.  

 Even after having ceased to maintain continuous national occupation of it. In fact, after having ceased to be a functional Jewish state on this land for millenniums.

 A kind of extreme version of the 'return of the prodigal son' parable, if you like.

Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
