JUST ANOTHER THOUGHT - IF YOU HAVE TO BE, BE.. PART 1.

Image
All things in moderation, the preacher man and/or woman is reputed to have said or preached.  Which is not bad advice, as excesses, in whatever context or situation, is likely to be indicative of a state of unhealthiness.  Of the perpetrator/s of the excesses overindulging in what they are doing, to the detriment of themselves and/or others on whom their actions are impacting on. Therein lies the case for moderation; to not to indulge in, probably literally, anything, to excess.  The proverbial gluttonous person overindulges in eating or drinking alcoholic or sugary drinks and becomes obese and misshaped and develops symptoms of unhealthiness.  The person who overindulges in gambling, places him/herself and their family at risk of loosing all their money and possession.  While others who overindulge in spending and borrowing place themselves at risk of penury The person who works excessively places him/herself at risk of destroying their health, and of not

BREXIT - CHARTING THE WAY INTO THE KNOWN UNKNOWN!! PART 1.

Image
Do not be surprised if you detect an air, and atmosphere which speaks of great apprehension, of expectant grief. If it feels as if a death sentence has been given and now confirmed upon a favourite son or daughter.  And that there is now no turning back, as the sentence must and will now be carried out. ~That the price will have to be paid by both the Brexiteers and Remainers or EU loyalists. As Britain begins to carry out her threat to leave the EU. The formerly 'Great Britain', now know as the United Kingdom, has this week, under the captaincy of her second female Prime Minister, Theresa May The Intrepid.  Given the other members of the European Union formal notice of Britain's decision to secede from the European Union. This is a momentous decision and one which is certain to create an atmosphere of greater apprehension in all spheres. Political, economic, cultural, social and diplomacy - of Britain's relationship with, not only the European Unio

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - 'THE LIBERATION OF MOSUL AND OTHER SIMILAR PLACES.' PART 1.

Image
For the people of the Mosul and the Iraqi army and government, the biggest threat to them might not be that of ISIS or Daesh. But the challenge of the 'liberation' not being a pyrrhic one.  That for the non-ISIS residents of Mosul, the price of 'liberation' does not prove so great that they have no City left and nothing to celebrate.  Liberation bought at the cost of the destruction of people's livelihoods and where they live, is a questionable 'liberation.' So, how can an army really 'liberate' a place like Mosul, that city in Iraq, when such a 'liberation', according to media reports.  Appears to be being achieved by the physical destruction of large areas of the city.  And the dispersal of, not only the insurgents who have captured it, but also of the civilians who have been living there? Some of who will, undoubtedly, be sympathetic to the insurgents? It would be a ruthless person who would unequivocally hold the people of

As Spring Approaches And We Wait For The Blooming Explosion!

Image
This is a video recording what the canal-side flora looks like in late March, as Spring approaches and most of the action is still taking place below ground or within the roots, trunk and branches of trees. Please take a look and, if you are so inclined, enjoy what you see and/or hear.

THE ARAB LEAGUE'S CONFERENCE - TIME FOR A NEW VISION? PART 2.

Image
Do not misunderstand me. I am not arguing for the Arab countries to attack Israel and trigger off more massacring of the innocents and destruction of people's livelihoods.  We have seen enough of such pointless and ineffective episodes, and of how the Palestinians have suffered terribly. At the destructive military might of Israel.  Provoked, it has to be said, by the recklessness, homicidal and pyhrric policies of Hamas leaders.  No, the Palestinians will never gain their liberation and freedom through military action.  Hamas' leaders are, by not having learnt this lesson already, have shown themselves to be poor and inefficient students of the evolutionary and changing path of liberation theology. Returning to the matter of Arab League.  One of the problem with the League is that it has allowed itself to become a relative irrelevance.  With as little credibility and support as the old Arab elites who are in charge of it. Except, probably as anothe

NIGERIAN STUDENTS ATTACKED IN INDIA - ARE INDIANS RACIST? PART 3.

Image
Some of the people of India are apparently finding it difficult to label the attacks of criminal elements in their population, on African students, as 'racist.'  It is not clear whether this reluctance is because based on the false premise that 'racism' is a 'white versus black' issue.  Or that, since most, if not all Indians are 'people of colour', like most Africans, then the former cannot be 'racistic' towards the latter.' Which is clearly not the case. People do not get to know each other and gain the opportunity to disabuse themselves of their prejudices and misconceptions by being separated.  Forcefully or voluntarily, on the basis that 'it will make it less difficult to defend them.'  Separation makes you a more accessible target for those who wish you harm; it reinforces 'otherness', you as 'an outsider'.  Whereas the intimacy of the African students having the freedom to mix and interact with

Mother's Day On The Farm!

Image
Just another example of 'Mother's Day', to be celebrated for another mother, giving and protecting life, while in a position to do so, and, like all mother's, with the helping and interested assistance of others. Please take a look at this brief video, which evidences as significant an event as humans attaining motherhood.

THE ARAB LEAGUE'S CONFERENCE - TIME FOR A NEW VISION? PART 1.

Image
The Arab League has just celebrated its 72nd birthday anniversary this month, and is currently holding a conference in Jordan.  A country which gain's its independence from the then Great Britain, after the father of the current King Abdullah, skillfully out manoeuvred the British and got rid of them. The Arab League is clearly not what it used to be in the past, and it has not lived up to its promise of establishing pan-Arabism amongst the Arab people.  In fact, it seems that their 'Arabic' affiliations is not what binds the Arab people anymore.  It is more their religious and class affiliations. The ordinary people of what used to be called the Arab countries, are, today, divided and united along religious lines. Within the divided House of Islam.  Like probably all other religious faith, except that the divisions within Islam or the Muslim world, are characterised by violent 'religious' conflict between Sunnis and Shiites. This has resulte

Which is clearly not the case. I will, however, qualify this answer, to the effect that.  If 'racism' is to be defined as,  'the perception and/or actions of dislike, hatred and/or intolerance of others, predicated on their differential ethnic origins' , then, yes.  Most Indians, to a greater or lesser degree, might or should be able to declare themselves to be 'racist'.  Which is not to say all of them will be proud and not ashamed of being so.  But the people of India  can tak
