RELIGIOUS DILEMMAS - DREAMING OF OR IMAGINING A WORLD WITHOUT THEISTIC RELIGIONS! PART 9.

'There is a flood and some people perished while others escaped. If those who escaped would or are to attribute their good fortune to 'grace or will of 'God.'  Then to whom are the families  of those who perished to attribute their 'bag luck' or the misfortune of their lost ones?  And how do we or the faithful explain the apparent decision of 'God' to show favour to the one and not the other?' Religions have undoubtedly become a part of the basic fabric of human lives, of our societies. They help to provide us with or help us to meet our spiritual needs or wants.  They are not necessary in their existing forms, as the theistic ones are more concerned getting us to serve and/or obey their 'God/s.'  When we look at, say, the role of the Black American churches, it is clear that they have a powerful place in whole history of the evolution and lives of Americans of colour.  It might have been the most significant factor i

JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DOMINANCE OF THE TRUMPIANS. FINIS.

The Trumpians rule is likely to last only for as long as their tenure of office. Once they are out of office, it is more than likely that we, or the next generation, will see a return of power to the traditional liberal-democratic parties of the left and the conservatives.  It is, after all, that, although a tsunami can and will, cause even permanent changes to the landscape, to the details of how the tide epps and flows.  Like the navigation of the Sun and the Moon along the lunar and solar paths, they will continue to play their crucial roles in how we separate our nights and our days.  Any disturbances in their cycles are more than likely to be only temporary, as judged by our human perceptions and timeframe. Donald Trump and his powerful supporters have been able to hijack the Republicon Party of the U.S.  Probably in a way not all that dissimilar from how Hitler and his henchmen had gained power in former Nazi Germany.  But it is difficult, even thoug

IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 44.

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' Even if they would have to travel part of or all of it along a parallel path, with them coming together for short periods of time during what would become regular prison visits.  For such are our fates, that there are times when they do cross paths, and we much come together, either to experience happiness or despair. As Nzuri and Mfanyaki milled about the court room, contemplating making their exist, hopefully without being seen by any of their professional colleagues whom they presumed had no knowledge of their son's situation.  It is likely that they would have forgotten the last occasion when Kazaliwa's drifting along with him fate, had bro

JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DOMINANCE OF THE TRUMPIANS. PART 6.

In this respect, yes, it is true that corrupt forces would have been at work in oiling Donald Trump's ascension to power.  Just as they were in the assumption of power by other dictators, including Hitler, Mussolini and others, in the past.  It is part the case that, it is just that the light of 'transparency and accountability' was not as bright in the past as it is today.  Although it is also the case that the forces of corruption have also become more skilled at obstructing and nullifying the rays of that light by covering their tracks. So, while the apparent advent of 'Trumpians', whether it be in the classic form of Donald Trump, or Jair Bolsonaro, or the more autocratic and sometimes ruthless Duterte, or the other much less noticeable 'wannabe or aspiring Trumpian' leaders of smaller countries.  The lessons history has thought us is that the 'rule of the Trumpian' leaders is likely to be short-lived.  With the adve

THE PIGEON AT PEACE!

Image
This pigeon is, for all we know, in a world of its own. At peace with itself and others, especially as there is an absence of other birds and humans around. Are you at peace or aspiring to be able to enjoy some peaceful time at present?

RELIGIOUS DILEMMAS - DREAMING OF OR IMAGINING A WORLD WITHOUT THEISTIC RELIGIONS! PART 8.

'It seems to be a common deception among religions, for them to hide and protect their 'God' from the people and critical and independent enquiry, behind a veil of darkness; both literally and figuratively.'  The impression is therefore given that their 'God' is not able to stand up to independent scrutiny and analyse.' The problem with religions, their inherent weakness, I would contend, is their preponderance to be predicated upon the authority of some higher power, some supernatural entity.  An entity who apparently inhabits and hides in the shadows, the darkness. A place where he cannot be seen, and avoids all human interaction.   And therefore leaves everyone, except probably the more immodest of the clergy, the priesthood, to speculate about him.  But, of course, we are told that '' God' made us in his own image .' Even if the story of Jesus Christ might seem to contradict this, when we are told 'Christ took

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 74.

Particularly when such quickness to criticise and condemn, is not balanced or outweighed by the impulse to express appreciation and thanks.   For the service, the loyalty and commitment her careworkers have been steadfastly providing her with. If she were to demonstrated more often, her appreciation of this blessing. If she were to be more mindful of just how difficult it is to find and hold on careworkers of their quality and commitment to her.  Especially when even her own children and relatives will, in all honesty, have to declare that "Mama" is a very difficult person to please, to work for, and even to get along with oftentimes. But notwithstanding our coronaviral world, life, as they say, goes on, and my dear mother continues to benefit from the unconditional commitment of her care workers.  A demonstrable quality which they might largely owe to their particular religious and cultural affiliations.  Although not being given to embracing an
