'There is a flood and some people perished while others escaped. If those who escaped would or are to attribute their good fortune to 'grace or will of 'God.' 

Then to whom are the families  of those who perished to attribute their 'bag luck' or the misfortune of their lost ones? 

And how do we or the faithful explain the apparent decision of 'God' to show favour to the one and not the other?'


Religions have undoubtedly become a part of the basic fabric of human lives, of our societies. They help to provide us with or help us to meet our spiritual needs or wants. 

They are not necessary in their existing forms, as the theistic ones are more concerned getting us to serve and/or obey their 'God/s.' 





When we look at, say, the role of the Black American churches, it is clear that they have a powerful place in whole history of the evolution and lives of Americans of colour. 

It might have been the most significant factor in helping the slaves in the United States to make the transition from enslavement to free people who were responsible for their own economic wellbeing. 

And from being 'freed slaves or chattel' to disenfranchised Americans, as the struggle continue for their holistic freedom. 

The black American churches have made an invaluable and profound contribution towards American culture - religiously, musically, politically, economically, and socially., as well as that of the world in general.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.
