JUST A DISAPPOINTING THOUGHT - ON EGYPT'S CONTEMPTIBLE PRESIDENT ABDEL FATTAH EL SISI. THE END!

The corollary being that, to challenge the government - as the armed militants and the 'religious terrorists' in parts of Egypt are doing - is, ipso facto, acting against the Establishment's perceived 'best interests of the country.'  Which would mean, according to the government of Egypt, that they have forfeited their rights to liberty, freedom and/or life. And so it is, that there will not really be a genuine presidential election in Egypt in March 2018.  There does not need to be.  As it has already been decided by President Abdel Fattah el Sisi, and his government, that he should have at least another term in Office.  While the ruling elite decides what should follow after, including whether he should have another, and another, ....  The planned  elections are meant to be no more than a fanfare for the  el Sisists. Something for them to 'celebrate.'  It is much less to provide some 'legitimacy' for the President's second te

And so it is, that the decision has been made. It is that the people of Egypt should be denied their assumed 'rights' to have a fair and transparent election elect a President.   To serve, or, in the manner of the military and establishment elites of the Egyptian Oligarchy, rule over them, for the next 4 years. According to the 'democratic model', which the government of Egypt, led by  President Abdel Fattah el Sisi, purports to follow.   The Egyptian electorate should be having a list of different candidates for whom they can vote for. In free, fair and transparent elections. This is what should be happening, but the indications are that this is not what is or will be happening, before, during or even after the presidential elections.  No, not with reports of the Egyptian government being very busy designing and implementing 'Operation Crush El Sisi's Oponents.'  Yes, just as how the Egyptian ruling classes had come together, and assisted b

And yet, we have also seen organised protests in many western countries, in France, Germany, in the United States of America. Protests which have, on occasions, did become violent.  Although not resulting in armed and prolonged battles, and even wars, between the protesters.  Why, we might ask ourselves? Was it because of the 'spirit of human rights and democracy' which flourishes in the West?   Or was it partly because of the absence of foreign sponsorship of 'fake' and 'psuedo' revolutionaries, and/or the absence of sufficient 'genuine grievances' of the protesters in these countries in the West?  Were these the reasons or some of the reasons why the passions of the western demonstrators cooled so quickly, without doing serious harm to or effecting significant changes to their societies?  While those of the affected countries in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere escalated into flames and wreaked terrible destruction on some

And so it was that it was thoughts such as these which occupied my mind. As I and probably 30-40 other mourners congregated into the little purpose built, modern Crematoria, to pay our last respects to our dear friend. This service was not one given over to religious dogma. Instead, it was repleted with a rustic reflections on and the celebration of the life of our dear friend.  Beginning with Jim Reeves classic song, Welcome to World. Which I thought was somewhat incongruous, considering, I felt, the world of our friend was and is now the world of the dead.  Though she continues to live in  and through our reflections of the life, as it were, which we shared with her in the past.  While our world remains, for now, that of the living. And yet, this is something we can be philosophical and flexible about.  Following the recounting of our dear friend's life, in a finite number of words, the officiating officer played the second hymn. That of Amazing Grace.  A

While still remaining financially attractive to investors, by providing them with the probability of a reasonable return on their investment.  Somebody has to pay the cost, and, just as with the profitability of companies in the private sector, the losses should also be fairly spread.  No probability of profits or a fair return on investment, will mean no investment.  And no investment will mean no provision of the required services. Or the provision of some of those services by the public or state sector, entirely from taxation.  There is really no point in placing the private sector in the stock and stoning it. That would only place a greater responsibility on the public or state sector to provide more goods and services.   Which it could probably only do with increased efficiency and the application of more 'private sector principles and models', including production for profit. The the better future lies in a mature and equitable partnership between the pr

So, what does death, the death of others, teaches us, if not to contemplate on and prepare for our own pending demise?  If not to be more mindful of the need not to waste or spend too much of our precious and limited time  multiplying the level of unhappiness, frustration and misery in the world.  Instead of spending it bring more happiness and joy to the society of humans? Sometime ago, I wrote a post about a dear friend of ours, whose personality became affected by illnesses. A condition which not only distorts the perceptions and interactions of the afflicted, with the objective world.  But also how they are then seen by others and the negative impact it has on their relationships with other people. Including their loved ones and their families. For those of us whom others might consider to be idealist, it seems fair to say that we do not delight in seeing and watching people.  Friends or strangers, suffering, withering away until they die from whatever de

So, according to Rex Tillerson, the top diplomat of the government of the United States of America. President Trump's Administration has decide to occupy a part of Syria, to 'Guantanamoised' it, if you wish.   And to use it to effect the overthrow of Syria's legitimate government.   Then setup a government which is willing to submits to the authority of the United States of America, and its co-conspirators in this gross act of decadent imperialism.  What is the Syria people, what is the world to make of this insane act of the intended rape of Syria's sovereignty by the American Eagle?  By this act of  America declaring de facto war on a sovereign statae? Probably one of the biggest curse to national sovereignty and independence, of present age or epoch, is that of the harm being done by 'pseudo' or 'populist', or 'fake'  'revolutionaries.'  Whereas the traditional or, depending on your particular definition, gen

Steps which would or should have ensured that the company avoided getting into its current predicament. Through the application of appropriate regulations and laws on how it conducts its business. But it is totally unforgivable when a government minister, representing it, glibly makes statements declaring that 'tax-payers' money' will not be used to help bail out Carillion.  A statement which can only provide further confirmation that Carillion should be allowed to die.   By telling the country and the world that the government would be keeping its hands folded behind its back.   And would be doing nothing effective to help to rescue the company and/or the jobs, livelihoods and economic interests dependent on its survival. It would appear that the reasons for Carillion finding itself in the financial and insolvency mess that it has collapsed into, are very complex.  Some of its problems might not be uncommon ones in the construction industry, which means t

We would not expect our government to ignore the acute plight of a cruise liner floundering and risk sinking in the ocean.   On the premise that it is the sole responsibility of the private which owns it, to rescue it, and save the people on it.  And, where health care is concerned, we would not expect the government, let us say, of the United Kingdom, to ignore the currently serious plight of their National Health Service.  And to be taking a 'hands off approach', and declaring that they have given the NHS enough money already.  So it should either rescue itself of sink, and no longer be able to meet the health care and medical needs of the British people. What we would expect, in both of these cases, is that the government would intervene to work with the owners of the cruise liner, if necessary, and with the NHS, to stabilise and responsibly resolve the problem.  If that means injecting a certain amount of 'tax payer's money' into the
