GERMANY'S GRAND COALITION FORMATION - ON TRACK BUT CANNOT BE SOON ENOUGH. THE END..!

And, now, as the country seems to be edging it way out of the political wilderness, let us hope that, while the new government will hold onto the positives of the previous administration.  It will make a more determined attempt to bring about a rapprochement between Easter and Western Europe.  With Angela Merkel coming from the former East Germany, she should be a valuable asset in helping to bridge the void between the Russian Federation and Western Europe.  Of, it is likely to require the ditching of the old Americana Doctrine of how Europe should be.  The future for Europe does not have to be and 'Americanised' or 'Russianised' one.  Its centre of gravity should be a European one, and not one which allows the United States to continue to generate and entrench enmity between the Russian people and the people of the rest of Europe. Western Europe does have a fear of President Putin's Russia, and the latter does have a fear of Western Europe.

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON AMERICA'S PLAN TO OCCUPY AND BASE ITS FORCES IN NORTHERN SYRIA. THE END..!

Of course, there is the little matter of the legality of America's proposed continuing occupation of part of Syrian territory.  There is also the matter of what the United Nations will, or should have to say about it.  Even thought we all know that American governments have had this tendency to either ignore international laws and protocols.  Or manipulate the process in such a way as to get the results they desire. It does not help that Turkey has now also expressed it's intention to invade a part of norther Syria, to attack the Kurdish YPG. Even if the intention is to attack the YPG and then withdraw the attacking Turkish forces. This situation could lend itself to some kind of  tactical alliance between factions of the YPG and the Syrian government forces, against Turkey.  And between factions of the 'Free Syrian Forces' and the Syrian government forces, against the proposed American coalition 'Syrian Border or Democratic Forces.'   Dependin

So, yes, Angela Merkel might have to reign in some of her social justice and human rights policies, and scale back on others, and extend others to the satisfaction of her coalition partner/s.  But there is a time to consolidate ones achievements and a time to advance them, later, when it is more propitious to do so.  There is no shame or defeat in having to do what is right at the right time, even if that means having to make tactical and/or strategic retreats.  Doing the right things at the right time, even if it is unpopular, instead of continuing on a path which is not currently viable, is one of the qualities of  prudent leader and political parties. In some respects, this has been one of Angela Merkel's strengths. The penchant for doing what is right at the right time.  Which is what she had done in respect of having a more open policy of Germany welcoming more immigrants and refugees.  We have seen that change occurred after she had had the probabl

JUST A THOUGHT - ON CARILLIONS BEING ALLOWED TO DIE, AND THE RESPONSIBILITY OF GOVERNMENTS. PART 1.

As the second largest construction company in the United Kingdom tragically collapses, the British government assumes the position of declaring, it is nothing to do with us. But, is that so, and, if it is, is it prudent? The banking collapse of 2008, we are told, could not have been allowed to continue by the relevant governments affected.  Because the banks were too big not to be saved by government intervention.  So, what did these governments do? Yes, they intervened to save the banks, and thereafter place more rigid regulations on them, in the hope that that will prevent a recurrence of the problem.  Yes, there could be some other problems or catastrophe in future, but, not that kind, they hoped. So, what is the responsibility of governments, let us say, in the so-called 'liberal democracies', with regards to helping to safeguard and promote private industries?  Do governments have any responsibility for safeguarding and promoting private sector busine

And become traitors, by serving the interests of foreign powers which want to use their country for their own geo-political interests. Another example of the pursuit of pyrrhic victories. It is, or could be a case of having to fight against one undesirable reality, only to have to succumb to an even worse reality.   That of SDF becoming totally controlled by their American manipulators.  Becoming no more that the arms and bullets, to be fired and used by the American coalition, as and when needed.  Not having much of a say in which 'target' they are aimed at, and for what purpose.  Surrendering their rights to influence developments in their own country, by becoming the willing and desperate tools of Syria's enemies. Of course, it does not have to be this way. The members of the SDF and Syrian Free Army, still have time to resist being taken over by the American coalition as its mercenaries.  To avoid unwillingly giving the American coalition the spurious ju

So, the Government of the United States of America, it seems, has decided that it should seek to annex  a part of the Syrian State, for its own purpose.  Something which it has chosen to attempt to justify in the context of maintaining its support for the rebel forces which it has spawn in Syria.  The so-called Syrian Democratic Forces. This is, of course, a military force, which means that the Americans are supporting this rebel army, which then intend to morphed into an Americanised entity.  Intended to serve what the American policy-makers see as their own goals and interests. And not those of  the Syrian people and State. This imperialist force will certainly not be a 'Syrian Defence Force', intended to secure the Syria-Turkey-Iraq borders.  Only the Syrian, Turkish and Iraqi states have the authority to set up and administer such a force.  This intended forces would be an 'American Occupation Force', straddling the Syrian-Turkish-Iraqi border.  E

Of some concern will be the kind and extent of the compromises which both Angela Merkel's and Martin Schulz's parties will have to make.  So as to be able to achieve the grand coalition government they are setting themselves to form.  One of Schulz's ambition, it seems, is to achieve greater integration and unity between the countries of Europe. At least, those which now comprise the European Union and Nato.  He wants a government of Europe, above and beyond that which is currently enshrined within the legislative framework of the various organs of the European Union.  While this will rightly frighten those of us who are already of the view that the European Union is already too much of a bureaucratic empire, as it is currently formulated and function.  We should probably never been too inflexible about being willing to review our positions, in the light of an ever changing and volatile world. For example, while it has been reasonable, in the past,
