JUST A THOUGHT, IN CELEBRATION OF LEAHPAR'S 90 YEARS ON THE GOOD PLANET EARTH! PART 2.

Image
With the future not holding out any great promises for Leahpar, except probably that of sparing him having to prolong his increasingly confused and disorientating journey.  Beyond the point where he still retains a good grasp of 'objective reality.'  It was very understandable that Leahpar's family should make the necessary arrangements to celebrate his 90th Birthday on Planet Earth, in some style.  Of course, his family did not know how Leahpar would react to the arrangements for his Birthday Party.  Would he even want to go with them to the pleasant Carvery by the canal, which they had booked for the occasion?  After all, the most dominant tendency which Leahpar has been displaying for several months now, when asked if he wants something or to do something, is to say, 'no.'  This has become his most used default response, except for those occasions when he is in a pliable mood.  But this would not put off his family from maki

JUST A THOUGHT - ON, IS PAKISTAN BEING RULED BY 'ISLAMISISED THUGGERY'? PART 2.

A goal which it is extremely difficult for Pakistan and the more enlightened and aspiring of her people, to achieve.  Because, so powerful, so entrenched and merciless are the dark forces of 'Extreme Islamists' who infects controls Pakistan.  Take the case of Christian woman, Asia Bibi, who has been convicted of 'blasphemy' and recently been freed by the Pakistan Supreme Court.  In any civil society, where the rule of secular law holds sway, this innocent women would have already been freed.  But Pakistan, it would appear, is not a 'democracy' or a secular society.  Had it been of either or both of those qualities, this innocent woman would not have been convicted and imprisoned in the first place.  And therefore, Pakistan, and the government of the recently appointed Imran Khan.   Would not now be confronted with the dilemma of which of the competing forces it aligns itself with.  The forces of the 'religious mafiosa', as is

JUST A THOUGHT - ON, IS PAKISTAN BEING RULED BY 'ISLAMISISED THUGGERY'? PART 1.

'No man can truly know what is the wish of God, unless he,  presumes himself to be the God of whom he speaks.  Accordingly, no man or woman can know over what or when God takes offence. Therefore, the concept of 'blasphemy' is illogical to the intellect of those who seek to be guided by reason and not imprisoned by the fear of illogicality.' Yes, is it the case that the independent state of Pakistan, is being ruled by 'Islamised' religious thuggery?  Is it the case that the highest law in Pakistan, is the sway, the rule and the fear of the 'religious mobs' and their despicable and malevolent 'religious cleric'? That certainly seems to be the case, as Pakistan and ordinary and sane Pakistani citizens.  Irrespective of how illiberal or liberal, despotic or benevolent their national leaders and governments make themselves out to be.  Are continuing to live under the the fear of anarchy and destruction which the religious thugs and

Yes, I do know that some people might take issue with me referring to Planet Earth as being good.   But let us not lose sight of the fact that, except for the inevitable natural disasters which buffets parts of Planet Earth.  And temporarily or permanently inundating them with floods, afflicting them with droughts, and visiting them with catastrophic destruction by storms, tornadoes, tsunamis and earthquakes.  It is the actions and omissions of us humans, which causes the most damage to 'Mother Earth.' Planet Earth is indeed a good planet, not least because it is to it and its surrounding planetary system to which we owe our existence and, so far, continuing survival.  This post is not meant to be a celebration of Planet Earth's goodness, but rather a celebration of the life of Leahpar, upon it. Some of you reading this post might have had the opportunity of reading previous posts I have written about Leahpar's  'the divergent pat

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY MOTHER! PART 3.

As we experience them differentially, based on how old we were or are, the experiences and knowledge we have acquired.   And the cognitive and intellectual tools we have to process, interpret, analyse and make sense of information or data we acquired consciously and subconsciously. At a certain age and level of cognitive and intellectual development, we might only be told about or be aware of the 'what to do', which our parents tell us to do.  But it might be at a later stage that, by either having it explained to us, or through our own search and experience.   We become aware of, and probably even understand and probably accept, the 'why' we must or should do what is being or had been requested of us, becomes clear. Depending on the age and cognitive abilities of the child, and what they are required to do, it might not be necessary or helpful for  him/her to be told 'why.'   Whether it is the actual reason, or a contrived on

IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 28.

'Like death and bereavement, at times when we are experiencing what seems like 'our worse nightmares.'   We tend not to be aware of the fact that, 'our worse nightmares' are in fact no more than everyday adversities which many other people are having to contend with.' And, as fate had it, on this occasion, his son was not in one of the drug induced hyper volatile mood that he had been know to demonstrate. And he did not resist being taken home by his dad.  Upon arriving home, Mfanyazaki trailed his son into the house, where they were joined by Nzuri, and began discussing the incident.  They were all consumed with the usual state of high anxiety, but, at least, now, they were out of the embarrasing glase of being in an open public place.  Kazaliwa always seemed to be unfazed by his displays of bad behaviour in public.  Indeed, it seemed to encourage him. Which was quite the opposite for his parents.  They would always

JUST CONTEMPLATING - ON SIGNS OF GROWING OLD. THE END...

Image
Namely that, each person, each generation of humans, do not ordinarily perceive and analyse the world of humans.   Armed or informed with the accumulated and collective experiences, learning and knowledge of our species.  We do not ordinarily take a rain check on what progress has already been made, and consider how we can add and contribute toward it. So, we see signs of growing old, when we see the younger generations denying that any progress has in fact been made.  And arguing for a radical overthrow of everything, and for a new start and beginning to be made.  Because, with the benefit of prudence acquired through the process of growing old.   We, the old, have come to understand, and even appreciate, how succeeding generations of young people, might also want to destroy, ignore and discard what this generation has built.  If no or insufficient value, is given to the constructive endeavour and accumulated achievements of the older and preceding

JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW 'FAILING COUNTRIES' IN THE AMERICAS CANNOT RESOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS BY RETURNING TO THE 'OLD WAYS.' PART 2.

Image
Countries which, over time, were abandoned, 'liberated by their resident 'colonists', and 'given their independence' by their former colonial masters on Continental Europe.   When it was no longer profitable or expedient for them to hold onto them? Yes? There is much evidence to sustain that conclusion. The countries of the Americas and the West Indies, therefore, are all countries which have suffered massive violence and injustices.  Done to their indigenous peoples, and the Africans, poor Europeans and other nationals who were brought in to repopulate them and make them into wealth creating product units. They are not countries which were colonised on any altruistic principles.  They were transformed in order to make money and create massive wealth for the European colonisers and the financiers and money lenders who invested in the venture. The veins which run through many, if not all of these countries, are the same divisive, conflicted an
