AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY MOTHER! PART 3.
As we experience them differentially, based on how old we were or are, the experiences and knowledge we have acquired.
And the cognitive and intellectual tools we have to process, interpret, analyse and make sense of information or data we acquired consciously and subconsciously.
At a certain age and level of cognitive and intellectual development, we might only be told about or be aware of the 'what to do', which our parents tell us to do.
But it might be at a later stage that, by either having it explained to us, or through our own search and experience.
We become aware of, and probably even understand and probably accept, the 'why' we must or should do what is being or had been requested of us, becomes clear.
Depending on the age and cognitive abilities of the child, and what they are required to do, it might not be necessary or helpful for him/her to be told 'why.'
Whether it is the actual reason, or a contrived one for why they should or should not do a particular thing.
So, my mother, as she now is, is woman of a certain age, as is, indeed, myself.
So, you might be wondering, or be thinking, then the differences between my mother and me might not be all that vast or unbridgeable.
To be continued!
