What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' He had been considering and making attempts to get a job, even though the odds were against him. He had explored training as a forklift driver.  He had considered and explored joining the Territorial Army. He had considered becoming a van driver. None of these options came to anything. But all of that was in the past, hopefully. Kazaliwa and his parents were now in the present and contemplating what they fervently hoped, would be a bright future.  They had much to talk about, after Nzuri had finished preparing the young man a meal.  He also had much to do, including having further liaison with his Probation Officer.   Who was in the process of finding him, in accordance with his

And what of the other rights; such as a woman's right to abort the foetus or developing child that she is gestating in her own body? Women who are in favour of being able to have the pregnancy developing in their bodies terminated or aborted, for reasons they believe are justified.  Declare that it is their body and their right to proceed with or terminate their pregnancies.  Religions, especially Christianity, declares that for them, women, to be allowed to terminate their pregnancies, is a sin.  Society, by way of the codified laws, declares that abortions are either unlawful, full stop, or is legal, in certain specified circumstances.  So, a woman having an abortion can be illegal, or frowned upon, because of a number of reasons.  These include the religious reason, namely that it is a sin and that nobody, include the pregnant woman, should be able to have a pregnancy or developing human, aborted.  For the dogmatic advocates of the unborn child, it is 'the right of the unb

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 102.

But, while my dear mother awaits her time, however impatiently at times, the life within her body, within her mind, still remains substantial and vigorous.  She still has her motility and her mobility, even though they are a far cry from what they once were, and demand that she does things and move about slower and more carefully.  That she learns to do all or some of the chores she once could do quickly and even automatically, more slowly and consciously now.  That she adjust and coordinate her mind with the now slower reaction of her body, of her limbs. Which is why my dear mother has recently sustained another fall. And was, for a period of time, totally dependent on her carer and a member of staff at her village, to work brilliantly to get her back to her feet.  Before the paramedics could be called to examine her and dress any injury she had.  Fortunately, my dear mother did not sustained any major injuries from her fall, which could be seen as a testimony of her resilient chara

But now was not a time for mourning, for tears.  Unless they were to be tears of joy.  Of relief from the invisible but very heavy burden that Mfanyazaki and Nzuri had been carrying around with them for the past 4 or so years. Now was a time for rejoicing, quietly, and savouring the family's good fortune.  Nzuri, being a believer, a person who is given to praying privately at home and at her local church.  Would doubtlessly be thanking God for having blessed her and acknowledging her relentless prayers.   By returning her son, apparently safely, to her, after so many fear and worry filled years. So, into the family's large living room all 3 of them went, and sat down. It

Whether he had made sufficient transformation from being the person he was, and to some extent, become, during his years of incarceration. It was over 4 years since Kazaliwa's childhood friend, DG, had called for him on that fateful night. Mfanyazaki still remembered clearly how GD wanted him and Kazaliwa to go out for the night.  And how he, Mfanyazaki, had, as he and his wife would always warned their son before he left the house, not to get into any trouble.  And, as usual, how Kazaliwa had, again, as was his tendency, brushed aside his dad's concerns.  Not surprisingly, Mfanyazaki, remembered how he had asked GD to keep his son out of trouble.  Although, on reflection

SAKHIR GRAND PRIX - PEREZ AND TEAM RACING POINT CANCELLED TEAM MERCEDES AND RUSSELL AND BOTTAS!!

Image
It seems that when Team Mercedes fails, take their eyes of the race, they made quite a big and embarrassing splash.  And this was one that Russell and Bottas could not recover from, leaving them to finish the race at P.9 and P.8 respectively.  For Team Mercedes, the moral or lesson to be learnt from this ignominious debacle, has to be this: Trying to cash in on an apparent opportunity for which you are not prepared adequately, is more of a serious risk than an opportunity. Not so Perez,Ocon and Stroll, ant their Team Racing Point and Renault, who capitalised on their good fortune and finsihed P.1, P.2. and P.3, respectively. A Very Big Congratulations to you, Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll and Team Racing Point, and to Estaban Ocon and Team Renault, for placing yourselves on the Podium. Commiserations to George Russell and Valtteri Bottas for having the opportunity of being on the Podium snatched away from you, because of the incompetence, rare as it is, of your Team. All of this went

SAKHIR GRAND PRIX - PEREZ AND TEAM RACING POINT CANCELLED TEAM MERCEDES AND RUSSELL AND BOTTAS!! P.1.

George Russell and Valtteri Bottas should have won Sunday's 2020 Sakhir Formula 1 Grand Prix race.  Had it not been for the rare but devastating and poignant systems failure of Team Mercedes! They had the opportunity to be on the Podium at the end of the race poignantly taken from them.  Because of the failure of Team Mercedes to be appropriately prepared to capitalise on the apparent opportunity they had to change their racing strategy.  In this case, the opportunity to make another tyre change on both of their cars, when the Safety Car was invoked about 26 laps before the end of the  87 laps race.  I say apparent opportunity, because the opportunity was not really there for Team Mercedes.   As the Team was not prepared to safely change the tyres on both their cars and replace them with the appropriate tyres.  The result being that Bottas' tyres were wrongly replaced, and led to him having the same tyres which were taken off his car, being put back on again.  And placing him
