What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.  

And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.'


Whether he had made sufficient transformation from being the person he was, and to some extent, become, during his years of incarceration.

It was over 4 years since Kazaliwa's childhood friend, DG, had called for him on that fateful night.

Mfanyazaki still remembered clearly how GD wanted him and Kazaliwa to go out for the night. 

And how he, Mfanyazaki, had, as he and his wife would always warned their son before he left the house, not to get into any trouble. 



And, as usual, how Kazaliwa had, again, as was his tendency, brushed aside his dad's concerns. 

Not surprisingly, Mfanyazaki, remembered how he had asked GD to keep his son out of trouble. 

Although, on reflection, that was not his job, even though GD had told him, Mfanyazaki that he would. 

It was a fateful night, because that was the night when Kazaliwa allegedly did the things. 

For which he was convicted and incarcerated for all the years he had been incarcerated. 

Before his return home on this fateful morning.
