RELIGION DILEMMAS AND PARADOXES - THE RELEVANCE AND VALUE OF 'GOD' IN OUR LIVES TODAY! PART 4.

Of course, while there will be a concurrence of desire to maintain the 'God company', amongst all of the people taking part in the project.  Their level of commitment and reasons for being involved will differ.  For some it will be a matter of loyalty to, and the prestige from the 'firm', and for others it will be because it is a livelihood.  And yet, for others, it will be because of their fear of the perceived consequences of not remaining loyal.  While for others it will be because of the rewards they believe they will receive at some point.  And for some, it will be because of the peace of mind, the serenity and comfort it provides them with. Essentially, the relevance and value of 'God' can be considered in a number of ways. We can consider the value and relevance of 'God' in the context of trying to find or contrived or ascribed purpose for our lives, for our existence.  Probably the first relevance and value of having and worshipping 'God'

Some will have less commitment and time, and will have their passion extinguished in a short time.  While others will display more commitment and pace themselves, so as to prolong their participation in the struggle.  Some with have too high an expectation of what is going to be achieved and how quickly, and risk becoming frustrated and despondent.  While other will have a more realistic expectation, but still risk becoming disillusioned, and benefit from the injection of the greater but short-lived optimism and euphoria and rage of the sprinters. Some will dive in and out, and some will make of it an active and life-long commitment. But all of them, of us have a crucial role to perform in the struggle against institutional racism. It is in this context that we need to see and evaluate the current, and now seemingly not as intense, but still widespread of popular uprising.   Against the chronic institutionalised racism which is continuing to blight the lives of people of colour, and is

All of this means that, making the United States a land in which Americans of colour are placed on even roughly equal racial, economic, social political footing as white Americans.  If a massive and time consuming challenge. It clearly is a more difficult challenge than, for example, getting a man on the Moon.  And god knows, it might be more difficult than getting a man and/or a woman on Mars and Venus.  All of which might explain why African Americans are still at the bottom rung of the American 'Dream Tree',  One Hundred and Fifty Five Years after they fought for and were supposedly  set free , in 1865. This objective, of Americans of colour achieving sustainable racial equality and socio-economic justice, is not something which can be achieved by themselves alone.  Nobody involved in this momentous struggle should carry or propagate the illusory idea that racism is not the black people's problem;  racism is the problem of all peoples, white, black, Chinese, Asians, Indi

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 87.

The reassurance I have given to my dear mother is this. That, despite her fears and her complaints about the misery this supposed knocking and ringing of her door bell is causing her.  Every morning she has woken up, or, if you like, find herself safe and well.  Never has she come to any harm from these reputed nocturnal events. I have implored my dear mother to be fortified by this fact; the fact of her finding herself to be well, even if tired, each morning.  And if she is not going to be pacified by this reality, then the only two options open to her are those of paying for a carer to be with her during her nights, or move into a care home.  The latter meaning that she would lose much or most of her independence and her belongings.  Now, it is the case that my dear mother does not want to go into a nursing home, which, ipso facto, rules out the second option.  Something which provides me, and, yes, her, with a bit more time. Not least because, for the time being, my dear mother has

IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 55.

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' But, instead, gain some sense of mastery and coexistence with it. That does not mean that you agree with the situation, but that you acquiesced to the fact that you have to live with it while you have or have chosen to do so. And all of this build-up of activities was about getting us to the visiting area.   Where the first post-sentencing meeting between Kazaliwa and Nzuri, Mfanyaki and Mzaliwa was to take place.  And so it was that, Nzuri, Mfanyaki and Mzaliw eventually made their way to the visiting area.    Having successfully completed the final index finger check and being told the number of the table around which their visit would take place.  They proceeded to the tabl

'If we are the product of our environment, and are unable to reach above it for factor X, then are we doomed to continue to repeat the problems and misery which the conditions of our making have made of us. Our goal must be that of making 1 plus 1 more than 2, and 2 plus 2 more than 4.' It remains a still very divided, along ethnic and colour lines, a still very unequal and inequitable nation, along economic, ethnic and political lines.  And a very elitist and ruthlessly competitive nation, in which not man, it seems, wants to be his/her/ brother's or sister's keeper.  It is obsessed with principle of everybody competing against everybody else. But of course, a great deal of new obstacles have been added to the circumstances of black Americans as well.  Catastrophes which almost seem to be unfixable. Like the governmental policies which have buried black neighbourhoods in drugs, with its associated violence and crime.  Which has robbed the people of their health and des
