AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX - LET'S GO RACING WITH HAMILTON ON POLE!

Image
Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes Team for having made it to P 1 and P.3 in qualifying for the first Formula 1 race of the 2017 season, in Australia. With Vettel being at P.2 with his Ferrari Team, Lewis and Mercedes are left in no doubt that the 2017 Formula 1 season is not going to be as, for them, easily won as was the 2016 season, which saw Nico Rosberg winning it and then turning his back on Formula 1 racing. Lewis, Bottas and Mercedes will have fight hard and damn hard if they are to win the Championship this season.  It is therefore vital that all three of them, including new team mate, Bottas, quickly jell into a strong team bonded with the highest level of professionalism, good communication and esprit de corps.  As the senior member of the Mercedes Team, Lewis will need to do his bit to help Bottas becoming and feeling a full member of the Team, while retaining their competitive spirit on the track. It is to be hoped that Mercedes will

JUST A LITTLE THOUGHT - LIFE AND LIVING CAN BE...

Image
Life and living can be a great many things. Some of them enjoyable and pleasurable and others terrible.  And then, there are those things between the extremes of pleasure and torment. And how do us humans deal with the pleasurable and the horrendous things which fate might have decreed that we should experience in our life-time?  Clearly, some of us are better equipped to deal with the latter than others.  Some of us might be strong and have apparently inexhaustible inner strength and resolve to combat the horrendous things which we find ourselves confronting.  We might, for example, have 'friends in high places', who can help to get us out of whatever terrible predicament we might be unfortunate enough to find ourselves in, most probably unfairly so. However, what happens when we are in terrible dilemmas and have no 'friends in high places?'  And/or have exhausted the support of our families, our friends and others who might have been willing to

JUST A THOUGHT - THE 'KHALID MASOODS' OF THE WORLD ARE REPRIHENSIBLE; BUT... PART 2.

Image
Of course, it is not only Allah that people like Khalid Masood has disrespected and sinned against.  Evil doers like him have also disrespected and disgraced their families. It is unfortunate that Khalid Masood was killed in this attacked, although it was a necessary price to be paid to avoid him killing and maiming other people.  However, a cretin like this man needed to die 1001 deaths to begin to compensate for his barbarous crimes. Considering the wider implications of the atrocious attack by Khalid Masood.  I wonder if it is too  much to think that it might help ordinary people in the West.  To demonstrate more empathy with the hundreds of thousands of similarly innocent people in Yemen and Syria, and Libya and other  countries in conflict.  Who are having to endure atrocities many times larger than that in London?  Atrocities which are, if not being perpetrated directly by western governments, such as Britain and the United States, are being aided an

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE CYNICISM IN US DO NONE OF US ANY GOOD? PART 2.

Image
It seems to me that we humans tend to become cynical primarily by one of two ways.  Firstly, we can become cynical, I believe, as a 'natural' result of growing old. A kind of, 'I have seen it all', 'I know it all', and 'I have done it all.'  'There is nothing really new', and 'it never changes.' Thus we lose our 'faith', and our 'belief that our hopes' will ever come true.' The other way which can lead to us becoming cynical, is true us hearing the same things, 'the same message' being repeated, time and again, as it were, but not being realised.  Probably the best example of this cynicism-generated message, is that which we hear from politicians.  Them telling us how they are going to change the world, and make the lives of their supporters, of the ordinary people, the working classes, better.  How they are going to bring us the 'promised land.'  We also tend to hear this

.JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON STATES OF BEING. RACIST. PART 1.

Image
Racism is a pernicious worldview which, to different degrees, is still damaging the perception and interactions between people of different ethnic backgrounds.  In all and probably every parts of the world where people of different ethnic groups come into contact with one another.  Fortunately, although there is a saying that'familiarity breeds contempt', the mixing of people of different ethnic backgrounds could be a necessary and indispensable condition for effectively combating racism.  Conversely, policies and actions intend to keep people apart, based on their ethnic backgrounds or origins, are likely to reinforce preservation of racism and conflict. In the end, it is not so much the destination which matters, as all humans and life forms have the same destination and end.  What really matters is the journey, the process and not so much the product.  It really is about this. If you were to be asked, at the point of taking leave of the world, of ergosumne

JUST A THOUGHT - THE 'KHALID MASOODS' OF THE WORLD ARE REPRIHENSIBLE; BUT... PART 1.

My condolences to the grieving families of the 4 people who have been brutally murdered, and to the scores who have been terribly maimed by a man believed to be a Khalid Masood, in London, England, on Wednesday 22nd March 2017. People, if we can refer to these cretins as such, are like poisonous snakes.  Like the rebels in Syria, most recently in Damascus, they slitter out of their holes and catch unsuspecting people going about their lives by unawares and strike them down, What can we say about the families of malcontents like Khalid Masood?  What can we say about the members of these people's families who are equally shocked and appalled by their treacherous and dishonourable behaviour?  Who are traumatised by the atrocities which their evil sons and daughters have perpetrated on innocent people? How terrible must they feel, when their whole world is turned upside down?  And for what purpose? For what purpose did Khalid Masood and the other religious cret

SYRIA'S PROXY WAR - REBEL'S ATTACK ON DAMASCUS; LAST DESPERATE ACT? THE END!

Image
They don't really give a damn; despite their constant refrain about the suffering of the Syrian people.  We have seen that in how they pursue their war against the Iraqis, the Libyans and Yemenis. How they have made hunger and famine the norm in Yemen. The fact is that, on a governmental level, for the Europeans and Americas, Arab lives do not carry the same weight and value as European and American lives.  European and American governments see no urgency in taking constructive action to stop supporting their proxy armed groups in Syria, and to bringing this murderous and destructive war to an end.  As long as it is being fought in Syria, In Yemen and in Libya. All they want is for it to be kept away from America and Europe.  The West, however, should be careful of their complacency and complicity in the destruction of Syria, Yemen and Libya.  They should be careful that they are not being blinded to danger of having to reap what they sow.   Even thought they

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE CYNICISM IN US DO NONE OF US ANY GOOD? PART 1.

A state of being cynical is to approach something or someone with an haughty air.  An air of arrogance, probably, but most certainly an air of disbelief.  An air that says, that cannot be true, it is not authentic, why are you bothering, I have seen that so many times already. Is that all you have to show me, or us? Our cynicism makes us lose faith and trust in people, in the gods, and in their ability to effect the changes for which we aspire.  Cynicism speaks of our frustration with our partners, with our leaders, local, national and global.  As we grow older and experienced repeated failures in others and ourselves to effect changes. The cynicism within our cognition grows larger.  And our ability to 'believe and trust others and the gods to deliver us from our trials and our tribulations, from our suffering and our despair, is increasingly diminished. We begin to hear only the 'noises' surrounding the 'message' of the latest prophets
