Birds Doing What They Do!

Image
This is just a short video of some birds doing what I suspect they do daily, in expressing their attraction for this tree. Please take a look and behold something different, and, if you are so inclined, enjoy!

JUST A THOUGHT - THE 'BASTARDISED NATIONAL IDENTITY' WHICH IS DEVOLVING BRAZIL FROM BEING A PROGRESSIVE NATION. THE END.

Image
The political, industrial and social leaders of Brazil should probably begin by examining the plight of the nation's poor, how they are living and being compelled to live their wretchet lives. This needs to be the beginning of how Brazil will move forward.  Not using the rich elites as the societal role models. But focusing on improving the social and economic conditions which have lead to the alienation and economic disenfranchisement of millions of Brazilians.  Which has led to the effective 'creation of parallel societies and state of existence' in Brazil. To corruption, crime, violence and lawlessness becoming endemic. It is not too late for Brazil, but it could be, if the political ruling elites and the business community continue to keep the country in reverse gear, which is it now doing, with the coup against Dilma Rousseff, and the retrenchment of the 'old guard fascistic political classes in the driving seat. Brazilians are apparently very devoted

FRENCH ELECTIONS - WHO WILL THE POLITICIANS AND ELECTORATE BLAME? THE END

Image
Populism has not worked in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, and there is no indication that they are going to work in Britain or America. They are yet to prove that they are not like Icarus; capable of taking flight and remain aloft, for a short time, before they are, by their own internal contradictions, they burnt and destroyed by 'realities' within which they must operate.  Life, it is clear, is not about quick solutions to major and fundamental problems, unless you choose to commit suicide, in which case you will not be able to 'relish' your 'success.' So, as the French electorate contemplate the advantages and disadvantages of planning to vote for this or than, political leader, and/or political party.  Please, try to avoid succumbing to the old and new stereotypes and scapegoats. Avoid blaming 'the immigrants/migrants', and the Muslims for what has become of France.  It is positive and enlightened thinking and attitude which

The impression that she is no longer a 'right wing nationalist', whose unspoken message is that of 'France for the White French.' A message that France should now close her gates to the immigrants, especially the Muslim immigrants and migrants who are gathering on her borders and inside the country. Who are perceived as creating a latent threat for France's future. That France is currently experiencing serious social unrest resulting from complaints of police brutality - compare with similar situation in the United States - might actually reinforce the perception of 'France and the French being under attacked by outside forces.' Be it the forces of Islamic extremism, or immigrants and migrants and refugees wanting to move to the country.  The mindset of many on the right of the political spectrum, and the populists, is likely to be such that they will be in no mood to ponder France's role, historically and more recently, in bringing abo

Just as how having children give their parents a new status, that of 'being a parent', and, probably 'the right to speak on matters of children and parenthood', so does being in employment.  Being in employment can attest to your commitment to work for a living. It speaks of you having pride and ambition, of you being industrious.  It says something about you or me having financial independence, full or partial, and of us being able to care for our families, if we have any. It is an attestation to us 'being responsible members of society.' Not least because we are seen, rightly or wrongly, as contributing towards the maintenance of the State, instead of it and 'the tax-payers' subsiding us. When we hear the news about unemployment and 'the unemployed', we do not have to look embarrassed, as might be the unemployed. Because the news is about 'them', 'the unemployed', and not about 'us', 'the employed.'

JAMMU AND KASHMIR - INDIA'S OWN BIG 'GAZA ENCLAVE?' THE END.

Image
It should be no surprise that India, a 'democratic' country, is displaying the kind of brutality it is displaying in trying to suppress the dissent of its opponents and ordinary citizens in Jammu and Kashmir.  Just as how we have become accustomed to Israel's brutality towards the Palestinians in the occupied territories. It is inevitable that the process of maintaining the occupation of a people, will eventually lead to the brutalisation and dehumanisation of both the occupied people and the forces maintaining the occupation. This apparent self-evident truth, however, does not justify the brutality which seems necessary to maintain the occupation of a people or group of people. Rather, it demonstrates the undesirability of oppressing people, since it can only be achieved through the brutalisation of both the oppressor and the oppressed. Just as how the State of Israel is required to bring her occupation of the Palestinians to a peaceful and just end, so shoul

Now, it seems fair to assume that, any government that would allow such almost carte blanche powers to its security forces, would also be very reluctant to hold them to account. Notwithstanding the fact that India is the world's largest 'democracy', just as how the State of Israel is often said to a 'democratic' one.  Ancient Rome, we might recall, was also said to practice a kind of 'democracy', which did not prevent or stop her having 'free' citizens and slaves.  The fact that India should claim J and K as being integral parts of the State of Indian, but treats the rebellious, if not Kashmirs in general, as if they are not Indians with equal rights which are or should be accorded to all citizens of the State, is paradoxical, but still a reality. So, it is not only the State of Israel, in which, in enforcing its control over the occupied territories and people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which exercised greater brutality and

We have seen how Brazil went out of her way to host the Olympics, which she could scarcely afford to do, and, most likely have done so at the alternative cost of not being able to make inroads into reducing the level of poverty and deprivation in the country.  What benefits the poor received from the hosting of the Olympics was temporary and incidental. It probably enable many to hustle more effectively for the duration of the Olympics, before having to revert to their pre-existing condition of having to live a miserable hand to mouth existence.  Conditions which Brazilians have come to accept as 'normal' or 'normative', meaning that they do not require any positive action to ameliorate them. Brazilians can accept the destitution and poverty which surrounds the neighbourhoods of the poor, because that is the way it is, and the rich and the elites, the middle classes, are able to live away from it.  They only have to see it when they are travelling from

Our sense of being, I believe, is related to the intricacies of our external environment, though influenced by how we characteristically perceive of that environment. Essentially, our particular prism for receiving external stimuli and how we tend to process and make sense of them. We receive stimuli from our external environment through our 5 core senses, visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory and tactile receptors, located in our physical bodies. Of course, it is not all of us who are blessed with all of these core sensory receptors.  Although, just as how we have the apparently innate capacity to adjust and adapt to different conditions in our lives, so are our senses apparently able to make some adjustment.  For example, it has been known for some of them to become more enhanced, in the case of one or more of the others being damaged. So, you might be tempted to ask, what has all of this to do with a post dealing with the state of you or me being employed; havi
