JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - SOCIAL WORK AND THE ADOPTION DILEMMA. PART 7.

I have posed the question before : Should adoptive families have a greater claim to local government resources than what other families are entitles?  Put bluntly, if an adopted child and a child living with his/her birth parents are at risk of having to be taking into the care of the local authority, or be otherwise provided with social work support.  Should the local authority be more conflicted  the predicament of the adoptive family, simply by virtue of the fact that the adopted child or young person has had a prior separation from their birth family? I would argue that it should not. The appropriate way of dealing with such a situation would be for the social workers to address themselves to assessing the needs of the relevant parties.   As those needs are currently manifesting themselves in the present, and are likely to be doing in the future.  The past status of the adopted child or young person should not have any overriding impact on the decisions which have to be made.  Al

JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - THE PROBLEM BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE PALESTINIANS : NO WAY OUT ???? PART 5.

It would not necessarily bring an end to the conflict, since the external forces which are aiding and abetting, manipulating and empowering the Israelis and the Palestinians.   Are probably more powerful than they are. It is one of those tragic situations in which the people who are doing the real suffering, are only being partly seen and appreciated as real living humans.  Instead of as pawns, as tools and means to an end; an end which is not necessarily theirs or that which they desire or have chosen for themselves. So, it is the case that, any solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict, will need to address the interests of the irresistible outside forces which have been playing probably a decisive role in keeping it going. Much has been said about the 'two state solution' for bringing the conflict to an end; at least, much has been said in the past.  However, as time progresses or passes, it is abundantly clear that having a Palestinian state and an Israeli state within th

FRENCH GRAND PRIX - CONVERTION BY MAX AND LEWIS, WHILE BOTTAS IS OUT-STRATEGIED BY PEREZ.

There are time when machine and humans can, and do work in perfect harmony.  A bit unfortunately for Team Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, the example of the 2021 Formula 1 French Grand Prix was not one of those times.  I said a bit unfortunately, because it was only a bit, in that, although Mercedes' pit call for Hamilton to come in and make a tyre change, did not result in the anticipated advantage.   It would have given him over Max Verstappen, the Great Racer was still able to convert his P.2 Qualifying position into coming second in the race. Since the race, I have read that Toto Wolff has attributed the failure of Team Mercedes' attempt to maintain Hamilton's lead in the race, which he took in the first lap, by effecting an under-cut of Max, to a computer error.  Of course, the bottom line is likely to be that, it was down to small but significant variations in human performances.  With  say, possibly Hamilton and Mercedes' pit crew marginally under-performing in on
