I am minded to argue that the nature of contemporary antisemitism is more complex and complicated.   Than the 'black and white' rigid caricature into which both the haters of Jewish people, and the arch-defenders of 'Jewish exceptionalism' have painted or tried to paint it.  It is probably not a simple 'cause and effect' phenomenon and reality.  The effects of antisemitism, both in terms of on its victims, its perpetrators and others, are themselves interacting on and changing the causes of continuing antisemitism.  Antisemitism is no longer, if, indeed, it has ever been so, a matter of 'non-Jews being jealous of and hating Jews because of their religious belief and customs.  Because of the Christian allegation against them, as a people, having a responsibility for the fate of the one who has become the fountainhead of their Christian faith; Christ. A government should not be seen to, effectively 'abandon some of its citizens', and then blame them for 'collaborating with or supporting the 'occupation forces.' This means that the Syrian government cannot realise its intention to reintegrate and unify and rebuild the country and its economic and civil society.   Until the opposition forces in occupied areas of Idleb, Hama and other provinces  have been defeated, or driven from them. Or lay down their arms and surrender. What is now happening in provinces such as Idlib, is, in some respect, similar to what has happened in places like Aleppo and Ghouta.  With manipulated 'public and official opinion' sounding the alarm bells, about 'catastrophic humanitarian crisis.'  And asking for the Syrian government and its allies to not attempt to defeat the rebels in Idlib and other areas.  In other words, they are appearing to argue for the status quo to be maintained.   Although it

Now, if we were to philosophically digress, who amongst us humans would not desire to enjoy good health.  Both physically and psychologically, even up to the point of our departure from the world of the living?  Yes, probably none or only the most masochistic of us. But it is also the case that the desires of us humans are often at odds with the realities of the world and environments in which we live.  And, just as how the births of probably most us are preceded by pain.  Either to ourselves, if we could remember the remarkable event, and/or to our mothers, like my dear mother.  So, also, is our inevitable exit from life, through death, oftentimes preceded by pain; to both ourselves and to those who have loved us.  Because, of what means or caus

'Normalisation', despite its apparent indication to being something good and desirable, is not necessarily something which augurs well.  This is partly because of the fact that us humans, as are other animal, I imagine, are quite capable to becoming 'normalised' to the terrible impact of conflict, wars, and natural or other man-made or assisted disasters.  We have seen or can imagine, for example, how the unfortunate people of the towns and cities of war-torn countries such of Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Libya and Syria.  Have had to adjust to the terrible 'new norms' which war and occupation by both friendly and hostile forces, local and foreign, has forced upon them.  And how, terrible as at least some of these conditions and restrictions have placed upon their daily living.  In time, they have become 'normalised' to, and even acquiesced and accept them as 'normal.'  Although some would be doing so reluctantly, while others might em
