And even when they proclaim their happiness to be linked to their belief in and submission to what they believe is the message, teachings and gospel of their God and their faith. 

 It can mean no more than that; that they have allowed themselves, given into following a certain path which, however much peace and happiness it brings them. 

 It is not going to lead them to 'a living God.' At least, not a God outside of or other than themselves. 

 Not a God who, for each Christian, for each believer in an all powerful God, will survive, for them, their own deaths.


There are, of course, other problematic issues or concerns about, in this case, God according to the Christian religion. 

 Such as why he never shows himself to us humans? Such as why he prefers to inhabit the darkness and continues to resist showing himself in the light, where he can be seen and be seen to be seeing us? 

 Such as why he never knowingly acknowledges the offerings which have been made to him, and the praises for the things which the faithful have proclaimed he has done for them and/or for others. 

 And so it is, that the faithful have put aside the evidence of some things which are visible to them, and chose instead to believe those which are not visible to them, or, indeed, anybody else. 
Such as their God.

  So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before? Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
