IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 34.

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' Of course, nothing could dislodge from Mzaliwa's psche his knowledge of the well-established statistical fact of the British criminal justice system being institutionally racist.   In the comparative justice it metes out Britons of colour.  And yes, it is true that it is not exceptional in this ignominious achievement.  It can also be found in other fields of British society, deals with British citizens of colour over whose livelihoods and lives they have and exercise authority.  Common knowledge as that is, the Judge's denial of it and, he would have argued, its irrelevance to his court and adjudication over Kazaliwa's liberty.   Is

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.   And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.' As Nzuri and Mfanyazaki, and Mzaliwa and about 3 of Kazaliwa sat quietly but anxiously, hopefuly but with a sense of despair in the court.  Judge Glenn completed his sentencing summary and passed sentence on the young man. Kazaliwa.  In his summary he made it clear that he did not look kindly on Mzaliwa's assertion about the disproportionality of more severe sentences being given to defendants of colour.  The learned Judge noted that he objected to such references in Mzaliwa's letter of mitigation on behalf of his son.   And that he felt Kazaliwa's father was implying that the court, and, by implication, he himself, was racist or being ra

RELIGIOUS DILEMMAS - DREAMING OF OR IMAGINING A WORLD WITHOUT THEISTIC RELIGIONS! PART 2.

'The time for a major reformation of the religious establishment is now long overdue.  As there is now even more of a need for a global debate about the existence/non-existence of 'God', and the nature and effect of religious beliefs on the development or stagnation of the lives of the people they are impacting.' Considering the fact that, for over 2000 years our human societies have been indoctrinated, manipulated, socialised, acculturised, forced and coerced into believing that there is a sentient 'God'.  And that the colonising religion is his message. The truth, as can be seen from our thousands of years history and our current observations, is that there really is  no such sentient 'God .'  And that the accompanying religion/s are not the  message  or  word  of a sentient 'God', but of men who assume, presume and/or deceitfully pronounce them to be of such a 'God.' The truth that we can learn from the cos

'Like death and bereavement, at times when we are experiencing what seems like 'our worse nightmares.'   We tend not to be aware of the fact that, 'our worse nightmares' are in fact no more than everyday adversities which many other people are having to contend with.' And so it was that, after to-ing and fro-ing to local police stations and magistrates courts quite frequently.  And pleading Kazaliwa's case with his solicitors, and watching them doing the same in court.  But now on a routine basis and no longer, if ever they did, sharing our feeling our anxiety about him being sent down.  As they appear in front of Magistrates who should rightly have been thinking, 'oh, not you again Kazaliwa, don't you ever learn?'  Kazaliwa had now, finally, gotten to the point where the fate he had felt would, was to be his, had taken firm hold of him.  He had a few weeks earlier been found guilty of committing  3 S.16 offences.

RELIGIOUS DILEMMAS - DREAMING OF OR IMAGINING A WORLD WITHOUT THEISTIC RELIGIONS! PART 1.

'Is it not the case that, the religious establishment, with it monopolisation of its non-existent, unaccountable and absent 'God.'  Does have too much power and 'legitimacy' over the affairs of the lives and societies of contemporary humans?' Religions, particularly theistic religions that are predicated on the presumption or theory that there is a sentient 'God.'   A 'God' who has created all that there is, was and is to be, have come to be seen as having a not only a religious, but a societal and legal 'legitimacy' which they no longer, if ever they did, merit or deserve to have. Indeed, it is and will probably be the biggest paradox in human history.  That concepts and beliefs which are patiently and obviously without any credible and factual foundation.  And which are, ipso facto, irrational and not provable.   Should have evolved and be manipulated to the extent that they are treated as if they are rational, a

AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 68.

This, we could see as a temporary failure to appropriately integrate the particular issue into the wider perspective.  At such times, my dear mother benefits from having a frank and honest discussion of the incident concerning, and how she needs to resolve it in a way that does not incur further harm to her welfare.  A recent case in mind is her becoming upset by one of her carer making her the subject of some appropriate physical affection, having just completed primary responsibility for her care which the keyworker was off.  After I discussed her concern with her, my dear mother was able to accept that it would not be in her best interests for her to lose this worker.  One of the two on whom she is now more dependent, as, due to the Coronavirus lockdown preventing myself and any other relatives and/or friends from visiting her. How ironic it is that, having for years taken it for granted that I would have been able to visit my dear mothe

His modus operandi, after all, had tended to be that the chain of events does not begin after his initial action.   But at the point of the other person's reaction to his initial action, or the person's retaliation against his reaction to what he had done.  Kazaliwa has a tendency to perceive of his actions only or mostly in the context of 'effect' arising from external 'causes.' I bit of, you started it; I am only ending it. Of course, although Kazaliwa might have been low of the demonstration of empathy, and his choice of succumbing to a reckless and dangerous life-path.  That was not an indication of low intellectual aptitude or capability.

RELIGIOUS DILEMMAS - THE SCOURGE OF RELIGIOUS OPPRESSION AND THE NEED TO FREE HUMANS FROM IT.. FINIS

Image
'If all the faithful and the believers and non-believers were to say, ''God' is dead or has never existed, and that all religions are based upon deception and untruths, and are not worthy of being followed.  Then, this act of self-affirmation  would represents the greatest and biggest act of human emancipation and liberation in the history of human beings.  It would consequently free, motivate and empower us humans to  make greater progress in our social, economic, political and philosophical advancement and enlightenment.' This truth would, indeed, set their believers free, but it would destroy these religions and those who are dependent on them for their power. This is not something they are willing to do.  So they continue to exploit the 'God' and the 'Saints and prophets,' who have been invented by the ancients and maintained by their religions, to keep the faithful in the dark.  To deceive the faithful into acc

'It is one of the paradox of theism, that, in order to be able to believe in the existence of a sentient 'God', the believer must, of necessity, be ignorant or be willing to feign such ignorance.  And also willingly or forcefully subscribes to a relevant religious doctrine and ritual' It is this 'God' and the presumed relationship, predicated on religious beliefs, between him and the believers, that needs to be subjected to through scientific enquiry.  And yet, it would seem that this openness, this transparent and accountability.   Is not something which any of the major religions, whether they are of the Abrahamic or the more colourful and demi-god-like Oriental and Asiatic varieties, are willing to countenance.  Mainstream religions are it seems, really too big to fail. They fear the 'truth' which would testify that they are based upon deceptions, frauds, fabrications and lies.  For these religions, their surviva

Yes, they could have walked away from it, abandoned Kazaliwa to his fate; even though he might not have been perceiving it as such.  As they and their feelings of distress did or might not have registered on his then either grossly under-developed or non-existent  empathic nerve function.  Or, if it had, then he was certainly not capable of acting on his empathic awareness appropriately.  We can assume that, if he was aware of the excessive stress his conduct was generating in his parents and his brother, ..., then it is likely that he had found an excuse to convince his superego of why he did not have to do anything to relieve it.  As he had been wont to do, Kazaliwa
