IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 33.

'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.

And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.'

As Nzuri and Mfanyazaki, and Mzaliwa and about 3 of Kazaliwa sat quietly but anxiously, hopefuly but with a sense of despair in the court.

Judge Glenn completed his sentencing summary and passed sentence on the young man. Kazaliwa.

In his summary he made it clear that he did not look kindly on Mzaliwa's assertion about the disproportionality of more severe sentences being given to defendants of colour.

The learned Judge noted that he objected to such references in Mzaliwa's letter of mitigation on behalf of his son.

And that he felt Kazaliwa's father was implying that the court, and, by implication, he himself, was racist or being racist.

Being the petty diplomat Mzaliwa was, and not wanting to make a very bad situation a catastrophically bad one.

He asked Kazaliwa's solicitor to ask the Barrister to inform the Judge that no offence or imputation of him being a racist was intended.

To be continued!
