AUSTRAILIAN GRAND PRIX - IT IS LEWIS HAMILTON AND TEAM MERCEDES ON POLE!

Image
Brilliant drive from Lewis ~Hamilton to extract Pole position from what can prove to be a rather merciless and unforgiving the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit.  As we have seen from how a part of the circuit, apparently a part which is inhabited by a god who demands either optimum performance from the drivers.   Or the destruction of their cars, went about doing just that to the aptless Valtteri Bottas, in Q3.  Having  been enticed into committing himself into driving through the 'zone of destruction or serenity', as if he was already at one with it, and then finding that he was not quite there, and eventually losing it.  A greatly disappointed Bottas found that he was truly in the hands, at the mercy even, of the gods.  Unfortunately for this brave driver, and for reasons known only to the gods themselves, the gods were not feeling benevolent.  No; they were feeling exceedingly angry. An anger they expressed by taking a firm hold of Car 77, and, ignor

JUST A THOUGHT - ON BEING PURSUED BY AND/OR PURSUING TIME. PART 1.

Time, time, time. Oh, time, what art thou, and where forth art thou, we might ask?  Time is, it seems, is the length of something of great value. Time is something we sometimes, and how ironic  sounds?  But yes, time is something we sometimes do not have enough of, and, at other times, we seem to have too much of.  There is an important job, a task to be done, but but we are running out of time, or we simply do not have enough time to complete it. There is this football match, this cricket match, this baseball or hockey match to be won or lost, but, guess what?  Yes, time is running out, and there is not enough time to keep at it and win it.  No, not with only X minutes of the allotted time left to play. Oh, if only we had more time. I have read the late great Physicist, Stephen Hawkins' An History of Time, but I might do so, sometime, and if I decide to make the time.  And, how can 'time' have any history, when it is, like air, apparently with

Some of his friends had single parents, and were oftentimes, it appeared, given more freedom or left to get on with doing what they wanted to do.  They would truant from school, and some were into taking drugs. It would not be long before Kazaliwa,  having started at secondary school, would lost  his interest in learning and conforming to school life.  His conflict with other pupils would soon, naturally, led to him being disruptive in classes and getting into disputes with his teachers.  Something which would lead to his parents being frequently contacted by the school about.   And which would eventually resulted in both the teachers his parents becoming extremely frustrated and angry with Kazaliwa’s bad behaviour.  And his persistent failure to take responsibility for his bad behaviour and change it. Being honest about and taking responsibility for his poor behaviour was always something which Kazaliwa seemed to have been totally incapable of d

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON WHETHER 'RACE' OR CULTURE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IN DETERMINING OR INFLUENCING ALLIANCES. PART 3.

These things were and are a given to them. They were, according to the doctrine of Christians, a reflection of the minds of Adam and Eve, before they chose to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge.  Before they attained the 'state of free will', and declared to god that life, upto then, was too sheltered, too claustrophobic, restricting and boring.  And that they wanted to be able to venture out into the world and find out what else was in it and learn from and enjoy it. And, yes, risk suffering what perils came with it. They wanted freedom. And so it seems to me, that, if society is to progress, so that people of different ethnic, religious, cultural, traditions and political affiliations, are to be able to come together and live in peace.  Then, they can only do so by jettisoning those part of themselves which will not allow them to collectively achieve that goal.  After all, the only aspect of our physiological and social being which we cannot d

JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE ASHLEY CARE CENTRE'S CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS CARING FOR THE VULNERABLE ELDERLY. PART 3.

Which is why there is an increasing demand for care and nursing homes.  Even though it is the case that residential and nursing homes for elderly people is a service which is under tremendous pressures.  From the point of view of pressures to make the industry provide homes which are providing high quality services, with highly trained and skilled and compassionate and caring staff.   But at low cost to the people and local authorities which are commissioning their services. In other words, what is being asked of the residential care and nursing sector, is bordering on the miraculous, and not on how businesses normally operate.  Especially, not in a labour intensive industry, with labour and training costs and individuallisation of services expected to be the majority of running costs. Of course, the financial cost of providing residential and nursing homes, is only one of the pressures with their proprietors and staff must attend to.  There is the matter of the expect

JUST AN IRONIC THOUGHT - ON THE PERCEPTIONS OF PRESIDENT PUTIN'S VICTORY IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION ELECTIONS. THE END..!

By explosive delivered either directly by America's military and/or its rebel proxies in Syria. Even if DJT wanted to congratulate him, President Putin thought, his handlers would not allow him to do so. So, the President recalled. Imagine my surprise, no, shock, when the phone rang and I took it up. Only to be met by the booming voice of Donald Trump, the President of "our American friends."  Come to think of it, I have never known why President Putin makes reference to 'our American friends' since the American government and Establishment clearly does not see Russia as a friend.  Might it be the the President is referring to a goal he aspires toward achieving, or is 'friends' a euphemism for 'enemy.? Anyway, President Putin recalls taking up the phone, and having his ear being assailed by 'Yo, yo, Vlad! You did it, man, you did it. That is a very big, a great, great victory you have pulled off! Congratulations, man! P

The incident would result in Mfanyazaki and Nzuri making their first visit to the local police station; where Kazaliwa was interviewed, and had his finger prints and photo taken and recorded.  Mfanyazaki would still remember his feeling of shame and forboding at his youngest became introduced more fully to the criminal justice system.  This, however, was just the beginning of what was to prove a long, dark and poignant journey for both Kazaliwa and his unwilling family, who would be pulled along in the wake of his out of control life.  One could imagine the family climbing a high mountain, with Kazaliwa being the last member of the family, holding onto the safety rope.   Sometimes climbing of his own accord, and, at other times, having to be dragged up the mountain by the rest of the family.  The family had only two options; that of continuing to maintain the life line to Kazaliwa, or cut the life-line.  That is a predicament which many families have, and o

Although, being aware of the tension, the mutual but noticeable contempt they share for each other, and his own tendency towards being arrogant, when he is feeling insecure.   He was not entirely without some doubt as to whether he might not have failed to do so. That be as it may, President Putin felt sure that he had received a call from Angela Merkel.  He distinctly remembered the phone ringing and him taking it up and, without having waited for the person to declare him/herself.  He remembered saying, 'Vladimir Putin zdes'! Vladimir Putin here!  The President distinctly remembered the controlled and authoritative, no nonsense voice of Angela Merkel emanating from the handset.  Saying 'Of course it is you, Vlad; who else would it have been? ' 'I just want to congratulate you on securing, I mean, winning your fourth term as President of the Russian Federation. You are now in an elite club, Vlad, like I am. I will wait to see what you m
