The incident would result in Mfanyazaki and Nzuri making their first visit to the local police station; where Kazaliwa was interviewed, and had his finger prints and photo taken and recorded. 

Mfanyazaki would still remember his feeling of shame and forboding at his youngest became introduced more fully to the criminal justice system. 

This, however, was just the beginning of what was to prove a long, dark and poignant journey for both Kazaliwa and his unwilling family, who would be pulled along in the wake of his out of control life. 

One could imagine the family climbing a high mountain, with Kazaliwa being the last member of the family, holding onto the safety rope.  

Sometimes climbing of his own accord, and, at other times, having to be dragged up the mountain by the rest of the family. 

The family had only two options; that of continuing to maintain the life line to Kazaliwa, or cut the life-line. 

That is a predicament which many families have, and others will continue to be faced by. 

With some resolving, however reluctantly to cut the life-line, while others find that they are unable to put down that physical cross or burden. 

Since, were they to do so, their psychological burden would become greater.

And so began what would soon become a regular and almost routine and stressful unwelcome contact between the police and the family.  

All as a result of Kazaliwa’s developing delinquency. Kazaliwa’s would soon became friends with several boys whose lives already had some of the characteristics which his would acquire. 

Although, unlike his friends, Kazaliwa’s life was rooted in a stable and secure family unit of 4. With only his delinquent behaviours threatening to seriously undermine that stability and security.
