JUST A THOUGHT ON - CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE DEMISE OF EARTH'S INHABITANTS. PART 3.

And what of the forests which help to extract and convert the poisonous carbon dioxide from the environment?  How do we get a balance between the deforestation of the forests by us, and also protect those of us who are exposed to the hell of catastrophic forest fires?  Such as those now engulfing massive areas of Australia. Can humans, especially the more acquisitive amongst us co-exist constructively living with each other and the natural environment on which we depend for our continued existence?  Or is it really the case that there is no safe alternative to us competing among ourselves, and engaging in reckless exploitation and domination our ecosystem.   By creating massive  land-bridges between us and what remains of our forests, or totally destroy them? It is the case that it would be prudent for us humans to learn to co-exist with our life-sustaining ecosystems instead of continuing to make war on them.  To be continued!

And just as well it does not really exist, irrespective of the ancient mythological stories and legends about the gods and their past and future relationship with humans.  Whether they be of the Hindu, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, or any other religion. Which is why I see it as the purpose, the duty of each human to live their lives on earth as compassionately and enjoyably as we can.  Making it our priority to do so, and not be distracted by and cause suffering to ourselves or others, in the belief that we are doing what the gods want and will reward us for doing, or not doing.  We are our own god/s, and although we have no control over our destiny, our inevitable death, we do have the power to influence how our fate is realised.  If we must have any non-human gods, then it should be the the cosmic life givers and nurturers; the Sun, the Moon and the planetary elements which preserve our lives. It is time for humans to free ourselves from the last a

JUST A THOUGHT, ON ALLOWING OUR COMPARATIVE DIFFERENCES TO 'VICTIMISE' US. PART 1.

Image
We should, as much as possible, try to avoid allowing our deficiencies from 'self-victimising' us.   Taking us prisoners and denying us the freedom we can have, by not allowing our imperfections to define who we are, and are capable of becoming.  We should, as much as possible, avoid the oppressive path of too often and wrongly comparing ourselves with others.   Especially others whose 'fate' is clearly taking them along a different path from our own.  Notwithstanding the fact that the destiny of all humans is clearly the same.  It seems to me that, one of the biggest lie people tell, is that, 'you can whatever you want to be, if only you believe and work hard enough.' That is an unmitigated lie. I was minded to say, of course their are 'negative' and 'positive' differences, but I am not sure that I should even be saying that without qualifying it.  Even if in the sense that, there are significant differences between th

Are all hardwired into our brain, and that, without our bodily infrastructure, any resurrected entity would not be a continuation of our former selves, but something entirely different. Yes, it is irrational and makes no sense, but hundreds of millions of people have and continue to believe these superstitious and wishful ideas. That there is coherent life after the death of our tangible bodies, and that the faithful, as it were, are collected, as a farmer might gather his lifestock or harvest his crops.   And take them to this place called  Heaven or Jannah, to exist forever in a state of bliss.  I mean, perish the thought that humans should live forever and suffer a state of constant boredom of repetivity.  Whether it be in Heaven or Hell, after having escaped or been liberated from all that living as a mortal had thrown at us.  No, No, Paradise or Jannah is not a state which any human should desire or aspire towards.  To be continued!

IS MODI'S BJP AT RISK OF NAZIFYING INDIA? PART 3.

Like every other colonial country, there would have been Indians who, despite the atrocities committed by their colonial masters.   In their attempt to keep their subjects under control, would have wanted Britain to continue to rule or govern India.  Precisely because of their fear of the continuing inter-ethnic tensions and violence which we have seen amongst Indians, post-Independence.  And between India and Pakistan, in their continuing religious war, even now; over 70 years since both have become independent countries.  Like most post-colonial nations, India might be loathe to give Britain credit for the positive things it has done during its occupation and rule of India.   Even though it might be quick to attribute blame to it for the perceived and actual avoidable mistakes and wilful unjust actions. Like many parts of the world, India is a nation comprising a mix of diverse peoples.  It  has a predominantly Hindu population, but I suspect that, if we loo

I mean, there is probably a logical reason why the purported, and, I would argue, mythical resurrection of Christ took place not 30 or a thousand days after his purported death, but 3 days after.  That reason being that his body would have been in an advanced state of decay if the people responsible for the deception had waited any longer.   And it would have been more difficult, if not impossible for them to pull off the deception or trickery that Christ had arisen. Science, loads of empirical evidence and logic tell us that it is not possible for us to come back to life after we are dead and our bodies are consumed.  They tell us that our existence as functioning and autonomous entities ceases when we die.  And yet, despite this, hundreds of millions of living humans continue to believe the irrational and unsubstantiated opposite.   That there is a living and sentient 'God', and that they are going to come back to life after they di

With the minority ethnic population, such as Muslims and Christians', being 'put into their places.'  The kind of thing which nationalists in other countries, eg, Britain, US, et al, would like to be able to do, without having to contend with the influence of 'political correctness' and accusations of racism. Yes, of course the demographic reality of India is a very complex one.  Of course many Indians and others would blame the English for a lot, if not most or all of the communal and ethnic and religious tensions and conflicts.   Which Indians have visited upon their fellow Indians during times of extreme madness. And yet, India, or probably more accurately, the people of the pre-Pakistan and India Indian sub-continent wanted their independence.  They wanted the British out, so that they could be their own masters of their fate.  And what was the British to do, in deciding how it would go about trying to lessen the probably inevit

We should not underestimate the virulence and violence which all forms of 'nationalism' can mete out to innocent people.  Whether it is nationalism based on stereotypical premises about 'race', ethnicity, religion or culture.  Nationalism is a very strong force for corrupting the 'nationalists' and dehumanising and oppressing the perceived 'the outsiders' or 'others.' Indeed, nationalism, with its dogmas about 'self' and 'others, is a form of religion, an ideology.   And, in the case of India's BJP and its apparent perception of 'India for the Hindus', it seems to be nothing short of a vengeful religio-cultural renaissance.  I mean, it now seems to be the case that the BJP has become the 'spiritual home', the temple of Indians who are now looking back on their Mogul past with disdain and shame.   And with some of them seeing their Muslim fellow citizens as  a reminder of a past which t

Or that we can and will be resurrected by an entity called 'God', and continue from where we left off before our demise; our transition.  discerning life after a person's death. It is said that one, we, cannot prove a negative; that I cannot prove, if you like, that there is no post-life, post-living human state or entity that is going to go to this fictional place called 'paradise' or Jannah.  And yet, with billions of formerly living souls; humans having inhabited the Earth and now having passed on; long since dead.  Why is there still no evidence of any of these departed souls waiting somewhere in a netherworld.  Waiting for 'God' to resurrect them back to life, so that they can live in this mythical state of 'paradise', of 'Jannah?'   Even 2000 years after the purported life and death and resurrection of 'Jesus Christ?'  Why, indeed? Could it be that it is because these fictional stat

It is not just a victim country that has found itself the unwilling host of millions of Syrian refugees.  It has being adding its own ingredients and stirring the cauldron, imagining it to be a means of defeating and removing the Kurds from its borders. For the Russians and Iranians, the logical and just choice should be clear; the Turkish armed forces must return to Turkey; or be defeated. The Turkish regime has never been a reliable and willing ally. As far as the war in Syria is concerned, Turkey has more of a level of strategic understanding with Russia and Iran.   Than an agreement on how to support the Syrian government in regaining the country's sovereignty.  Yes, the Russian's are benefiting economically and politically from this 'strategic understanding', but the price that President Erdogan is now demanding for keeping it going.   Is not one that Russia and Iran can meet, while still enabling them to achieve their own strategic objecti
