With the minority ethnic population, such as Muslims and Christians', being 'put into their places.' 

 The kind of thing which nationalists in other countries, eg, Britain, US, et al, would like to be able to do, without having to contend with the influence of 'political correctness' and accusations of racism.

 Yes, of course the demographic reality of India is a very complex one. 

 Of course many Indians and others would blame the English for a lot, if not most or all of the communal and ethnic and religious tensions and conflicts.  


Which Indians have visited upon their fellow Indians during times of extreme madness.

 And yet, India, or probably more accurately, the people of the pre-Pakistan and India Indian sub-continent wanted their independence. 

 They wanted the British out, so that they could be their own masters of their fate. 
And what was the British to do, in deciding how it would go about trying to lessen the probably inevitable religious and inter-ethnic catastrophe which was to follow?

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
