Like every other colonial country, there would have been Indians who, despite the atrocities committed by their colonial masters.  

 In their attempt to keep their subjects under control, would have wanted Britain to continue to rule or govern India. 

Precisely because of their fear of the continuing inter-ethnic tensions and violence which we have seen amongst Indians, post-Independence. 

And between India and Pakistan, in their continuing religious war, even now; over 70 years since both have become independent countries. 


Like most post-colonial nations, India might be loathe to give Britain credit for the positive things it has done during its occupation and rule of India.  

Even though it might be quick to attribute blame to it for the perceived and actual avoidable mistakes and wilful unjust actions.

Like many parts of the world, India is a nation comprising a mix of diverse peoples. 

It  has a predominantly Hindu population, but I suspect that, if we look back into the history of the people of the different princedoms and formerly independent states, and tribes - just as they were in Germany, France, Britain, et al.

  So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
