JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON WHETHER 'RACE' OR CULTURE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IN DETERMINING OR INFLUENCING ALLIANCES. PART 3.

These things were and are a given to them. They were, according to the doctrine of Christians, a reflection of the minds of Adam and Eve, before they chose to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. 

Before they attained the 'state of free will', and declared to god that life, upto then, was too sheltered, too claustrophobic, restricting and boring. 

And that they wanted to be able to venture out into the world and find out what else was in it and learn from and enjoy it. And, yes, risk suffering what perils came with it. They wanted freedom.

And so it seems to me, that, if society is to progress, so that people of different ethnic, religious, cultural, traditions and political affiliations, are to be able to come together and live in peace. 

Then, they can only do so by jettisoning those part of themselves which will not allow them to collectively achieve that goal. 

After all, the only aspect of our physiological and social being which we cannot directly change, is probably the colour of our skin, the texture of our hair. 

Pretty much of all else can be changed, even tough some of it will need time and several generations to achieve.

This is something which can only be achieved by the significant replacement of our distinct and individual group cultures, including religious beliefs, by evolving a new and collective one. 

Which we can all substantially own and identify with. Even if we still retain some of the 'old separatist cultures.' 

This, rather than any appeal to individual ethnic, cultural and religious affiliation, is the way forward.

Let each person, each ethnic, each particularistic cultural and/or religious community, sect, each nation. Over time, gradually, come out of their particular enclave, state of isolation, conservation of the past. 

And embrace the entirety of our shared humanity, and cooperate in building a new and all encompassing culture. With which all future generations can and will more readily take ownership of and identify with.
