Even if DJT wanted to congratulate him, President Putin thought, his handlers would not allow him to do so.

So, the President recalled. Imagine my surprise, no, shock, when the phone rang and I took it up. Only to be met by the booming voice of Donald Trump, the President of "our American friends." 

Come to think of it, I have never known why President Putin makes reference to 'our American friends' since the American government and Establishment clearly does not see Russia as a friend. 


Might it be the the President is referring to a goal he aspires toward achieving, or is 'friends' a euphemism for 'enemy.?

Anyway, President Putin recalls taking up the phone, and having his ear being assailed by 'Yo, yo, Vlad! You did it, man, you did it. That is a very big, a great, great victory you have pulled off! Congratulations, man!

 President Putin recalled that President Trump gave the impression of a leader who was being leaned upon. By, he pondered his thoughts, and, at first, hoovered over the term, 'his handlers', before settling for advisors. 



However, the latter was not to be his eventual choice, as President Trump quickly explained that he could not be on the phone for long, because he had been 'advised' not 'congratulate' him. 

 As he could lead to a 'diplomatic incident.' On this occasion, President Putin just about had the time to thank 'his American friend.'

 "Thank you, my friend. I hope we can do better business in 2018, and that Russia will be given the deserved opportunity to be the equal partner with the West, which has been persistently denied to us."  

 "I hope so, I hope so", President Trump replied, before telling President Putin that he "I will see you", and hanging up the phone. Just as President Putin quickly rejoined, "I look forward to that."


So, what is the moral of this? Probably just this. People, especially the leaders of nations, should hesitate and re-evalute the commissioning things and acts which are intended to cause harm. 

 But avoid being hesitant about doing things which are positive and likely to promote or generate more positive outcomes.

 National leaders should behave as prudent leaders, and not like emotional people being blown about like straw in the wind.
