JUST A LITTLE THOUGHT - LIFE AND LIVING CAN BE...

Life and living can be a great many things. Some of them enjoyable and pleasurable and others terrible. 

 And then, there are those things between the extremes of pleasure and torment.

 And how do us humans deal with the pleasurable and the horrendous things which fate might have decreed that we should experience in our life-time? 

 Clearly, some of us are better equipped to deal with the latter than others. 

 Some of us might be strong and have apparently inexhaustible inner strength and resolve to combat the horrendous things which we find ourselves confronting. 

 We might, for example, have 'friends in high places', who can help to get us out of whatever terrible predicament we might be unfortunate enough to find ourselves in, most probably unfairly so.

 However, what happens when we are in terrible dilemmas and have no 'friends in high places?' 

 And/or have exhausted the support of our families, our friends and others who might have been willing to help us, if they could?

Such are the times when we might consider that we are on our own and that it is just us and the gods of fate. 

 The times when we most need our courage and our inner strength. 

 The times when we probably need to summon up the courage which we might not have or might not have know that we have. 

 The time when we might have to begin to resign ourselves to the outcome of the hand that fate has dealt us; whatever that outcome might be.

 But, let us not dwell on such a situation, today. A situation where the only control we might have over our fate is how we respond to adjust to it; not being able to externally affect how it impacts on us.

No; let us not go there today. Because we, at least those of us for whom today is a pleasant and lovely day, want to enjoy the pleasure today offers us. 

 So, let us savour the quiet, noisy and other delightful aspects which this Spring day has to offer us. Let us focus on what we have to be thankful to nature and to other humans for.

 Enjoy today and avoid taking it for granted.

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before?
