JUST A THOUGHT, IN CELEBRATION OF LEAHPAR'S 90 YEARS ON THE GOOD PLANET EARTH! PART 1.

Yes, I do know that some people might take issue with me referring to Planet Earth as being good.  

 But let us not lose sight of the fact that, except for the inevitable natural disasters which buffets parts of Planet Earth. 

 And temporarily or permanently inundating them with floods, afflicting them with droughts, and visiting them with catastrophic destruction by storms, tornadoes, tsunamis and earthquakes. 


It is the actions and omissions of us humans, which causes the most damage to 'Mother Earth.'

 Planet Earth is indeed a good planet, not least because it is to it and its surrounding planetary system to which we owe our existence and, so far, continuing survival. 

 This post is not meant to be a celebration of Planet Earth's goodness, but rather a celebration of the life of Leahpar, upon it.


Some of you reading this post might have had the opportunity of reading previous posts I have written about Leahpar's  'the divergent path of Leahpar's life journey.' 

 Leahpar is afflicted with vascular dementia, which is taking its toll on his emotional, psychological and cognitive health and functioning.  

 As well as on his capacity to maintain independent living with the degree of safety which the society in which he lives, have come to expect as the norm.

So as to provide a sufficient supply of inmates for the prison population.   As we have seen, for example, in the United States of America.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before? Diplomacy ought to be the process by which nations, through their governments, establish and maintain mutually beneficial and peaceful relationships between them; Diplomacy is not, like the Gulf Cooperation Council members and their allies, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE states, trying to bully and intimidate Qatar into doing their bidding, by surrendering its sovereignty.  Neither is diplomacy what the American government is doing, in using sanctions to force the governments of states of Iran, Russia and North Korea, into complying with its demands.  About what action they should or should not take in pursuing what they consider to be in the interest of their countries and people.  No, none of this is diplomacy. Rather it is method of force and compulsion, which is not synonymous with principle or practice of diplomacy.  Which is about the art of establishing and maintaining peaceful and mutually beneficial relationships between different countries.
