'What we recall of our experiences of the past, tends to be a factor of how they impacted on our senses at the time, the strength of our continuing attachment to those experiences.  

And the extent to which we have succeeded in assimilating them into our subsequent experiences and move on with our lives.'


Even if they would have to travel part of or all of it along a parallel path, with them coming together for short periods of time during what would become regular prison visits. 

For such are our fates, that there are times when they do cross paths, and we much come together, either to experience happiness or despair.

As Nzuri and Mfanyaki milled about the court room, contemplating making their exist, hopefully without being seen by any of their professional colleagues whom they presumed had no knowledge of their son's situation. 




It is likely that they would have forgotten the last occasion when Kazaliwa's drifting along with him fate, had brought them some happiness. Particularly of the prolonged kind.

And now, with this momentous milestone having been reached, it is probably only natural, or normal, that it is the mountain of pending despair that they should be countenancing experiencing for too many years ahead.

Having, as far as Kazaliwa's parents and brother were concerned, failed to extract their son from the jaws of what they considered a still terrible fate of years of imprisonment.
